All time Recruiting board meltdowns

To me, Smith and Cook were 2 of the biggest...

Those guys should have been canes.

Deonte Thompson sticks out because that was the year I started following recruiting.

Since then Patrick Johnson is my obvious No. 1 (isn't that D$ step bro?), followed by Denver Kirkland. I remember some weird stories surrounding the Kirkland recruitment saga.

Antone Smith is the worst I remember because it was so shocking. Nobody thought he really had any interest in FSU. He had named Miami as his leader throughout most of his recruitment but did give a fairly lukewarm review of his visit that everybody sort of ignored. His is the worst I remember because with all the others you could see what was happening or you knew that they weren’t coming to Miami.

This +10. That one still stings.

Cook is an odd one - If we had Cook, Fat Al wins a couple more games (including FSU games obviously) and is probably still here.

Probably better for long term that Cook didn't come, even though he straight crushed us.

I remember when people kept logically trying to say Yearby was the better back, even after their Freshman years.

Antoine Smith by far. You have to put Tyler Bird up there. He was talking Canes including jersey number to the last

Wasn't on here during the Patrick Johnson ****. I was on CBS then and they went bonkers.... I can imagine what it was like here. Think it was that last ob game that make his decision

I'm still waiting for PJ to make it to Coral Gables.........

THIS! Grassy was flipping the **** out at that time.

What was the name of the supposed insider who kept saying he was coming??? It was before Vette.

My memory is horrible especially with names but was it Conch?

That's the guy. I was new to the boards back then and fell for the bs.

If Tyson spurns UM the ensuing meltdown would IMO reach epic proportions the likes of which we’ve never seen. Where would it rank amongst some other famous recruiting board meltdowns?

Antone Smith
Deonte Thompson
Andre Debose
Amari Cooper
Jerry Jeudy
Matthew Thomas/Denver Kirkland
Josh Jobe
Anthony McFarland
Teddy Bridgewater
Dalvin Cook
Alex Collins
Patrick Johnson/Peterson
Keith Bryant

Feel free to add.

It will be just like all the rest, IF you're not with us then you're against us!! I'm so tired of hearing fans say this and that about Campbell, I mean I want him here at The U BUT hey, it's his decision the staff has been recruiting him for a while now, SO at the end of the day just let him not his pick and IF it's Miami "great" IF NOT "oh well"...

Trevonte Valentine - whoa, buddy that was a dumpster fire of outrage. Especially after he dominated at the Army game. Yowza

Yup and he was considered a strong lean from the spring, so losing him fvckin sucked

And the perplexity of preston not wanting to cut his hair being apart of his decision.

Preston made it to the nfl too and played a few years.

That was the only reason he gave if I remember correctly.

Back before Alabama we always used to lose our sketchy commits or leans to FSU.

it was..Parker had long dreads and at the time we made freshman cut their hair still if i can remember. he wanted no part of that. He was a cane lean along time before that. Parker smoked and dropped passes his way out of the league..but smoked his way out of fsu too and still made it out of North Alabama

He’s rapping out of Delray now...

Yeah, Smith was the worse. As you mentioned, most the other guys listed it wasn't a surprise they didn't pick Miami.
