All time Recruiting board meltdowns

This will be worse than any
We are an entire month away from signing day, and posters already needing blood transfusions.

Antone Smith is the worst I remember because it was so shocking. Nobody thought he really had any interest in FSU. He had named Miami as his leader throughout most of his recruitment but did give a fairly lukewarm review of his visit that everybody sort of ignored. His is the worst I remember because with all the others you could see what was happening or you knew that they weren’t coming to Miami.

Can't forget those slippers!

If I recall correctly, in the Colon case, UF, by taking him could not take anyone else (they either used up their 25 initial counters or reached the 85 limit). As a result, when a DT became eligible to sign later in the process, he signed with UM instead of UF. I think his name was Santonio Thomas. He couldn't start on those teams in the early 2000's, but he was a very good rotation guy. All in all, Colon for Thomas was a good trade off.

As far as Antone Smith, there was a lot of smoke on grassy at the time that one of the Cane players that was Smith's host on his official visit beat him up for running his mouth too much. I had no way to substantiate that claim, but it sure would help explain Smith going to FSU if it did happen.

That was the rumor I remember too after signing day. I think it was one of the LBs.

Wasn’t that the kid who had lied to him mom, so she started crying when he announced for FSU at the table?

he didn't lie as much as he didn't tell her at all

My recollection is she showed up believing it was Miami.
