Al on The Joe Rose Show

Derosier and Kamalu are both three years out of high school so they better be ready to at least contribute.

seemed very positive and upbeat about the NCAA and thanked everyone for standing next to Miami. Also, said he would not forget who used this against Miami.

SUMMARY!!!!!

Without going back and listening to the interview here are a few highlights I can remember:

- Stephen Morris is very cerebral, been in 4 different systems while at UM, is a gym rat and throws with his recievers 4-5 times a week.

- Duke Johnson is bigger and stronger and will be able to carry the bulk of the load this year.

- Feels good about the DT rotation: says Porter and Robinson have had strong offseasons and says Pierre is expected to take the next step. Also mentioned Kamalu, Derosier, Corey King and E. Moore as guy he expects to provide quality depth.

- Also mentioned Jelani at 285 and seemed to indicate that he could possibly see time at DT as well.

- Says SoFl highscool coaches have been very supportive and helpful

- Says other programs have viciously negatively recruited against UM and that he'll remember that. Will also remember those who have stood with us through the NCAA investigation and those who did not

This tells me that if we get up on someone that was talking smack Al might just hammer down and beat someone to a bloody pulp.

LOVE IT!!!

Cough Florida Cough

I pray we get that chance

- Talked about Stephen Morris performing well at the Manning camp. Says he has an elite arm.
- Better arm than Schaub, Hassleback, and any other QB he's been around.
- Very high football intelliegence.
- More players are more invested in the program. Working out more and hanging out and watching tape more together.
- Recruiting is going great. Coaches and players are sticking together with the program through the hard times and will stick together when it gets better.
- Local HS coaches are showing a lot of support. They understand the staff is here to stay.
- Thinks DT will be fine. Porter, Robinson, King, and Pierre have all had good summers. Even mentioned Moore.
- Hamilton is now 285.
- Mentioned Kumalu and Derosier coming in and competing.
- Penalties and metal errors are unacceptible and really hurt the defensive side of the ball.
- Looking forward to moving on from the NCAA investigation. Really supports all the support from the Alumni, HS Coaches, and the community. Thinks the worst is def behind us.
- This challenge dealing with the NCAA has been very similar to his experience at Temple.
- Miami is worth fighting for. AD is leading by example and we are going to fight to get back to the top of college football.
- Negative recruiting is going on and he said we will not forget it.
- Duke is physically ready to go and get more reps. Great competition behind him to spell him. His weight is up and his strength is up but his speed is still there.

-Golden went up to Jersey Shore on vacation
-Coastline got ****ed in the butt hole up in NJ
-Stephen Morris crushes competition at Manning Camp
-Golden is not surprised at all about his elite arm.. "I said it all along"..
-Golden says Morris has best arm of any QB he has ever coached or been around
-Isn't just a "fastball pitcher" he can "make all the throws"
-No one can do "better football intelligence interview" than Morris
-Morris throws with his guys 5-6 days a week. He's also a gym rat.
-Stephen is "ready to lead us and has made everyone around him better" -Golden
-On verbal commitments... how he is doing his thang
-Golden is "excited about recruiting." "We've stood with the U through the hard times"
-"New commits want to build the program with us and be part of championships"
-"Great support from local HS's and HS Coaches"
-Young people on team are connected with HS kids and that helps a lot
-HS community knows we're here to stay w/ low camp costs and great teaching at camps
-HS kids in area have great character coming to camps despite being national recruits
-DT thinnks we'll be fine
-We need to recruit DL and DT very well this year
-Porter and Robinson have had good summers, King has had a "great" summer, Pierre "ready to take next step"
-Earl Moore got a shout out
-Hamilton 285, Kamalu and Derosier coming in
-Going to have line rotations a lot and "specialized lines" where people have different assignments and such. Constant movement.
-"No secret to anybody that we have to put more pressure on QB"
-Golden says he wants to see coaches and coaches family, alum, athletic department, players faces when NCAA is done with this ****
-Great support from everyone and Golden is very grateful
-Season ticket sales are up, worst is behind us.
-Golden never thought he would see something more challenging that revamping Temple. This is harder because of recruiting negativity and outside forces. Recruiting has been "ridiculous" in terms of people taking shots at Miami
-We've been operating with class and taking the high road. Players have a fire and love SoFla, wanna be here.
-Gonna fight our way back to the top of college football one day at a time

scary what he is doing without talking bad about other schools, can't wait until he turns up the heat!!!!

love how he mentioned, They don't want Miami to rise, they know what's on the other side of the mountain. Love that!!!

Anything on the DE from Wisconsin?

David Gilbert could make or break the season. If the guy comes in and is healthy, he provides exactly what we don't currently have. Perhaps AQM or Hoilett or McCord emerge as pass rushers but adding Gilbert (especially if Bond doesn't make it in) is paramount.

If somehow Gilbert and Derosier are good we could have a very good season.

That being said, Im not counting on it.
