Sorry for being redundant
On the depth chart: Rose started by inquiring about WR Scott
"This is a evolving depth chart, the last two practices were the best WR Scott has had"
"Rashawn is a great example, if he can give us what he gave us the last two days...every single day, he'll turn the corner forever in his career, and that's what we're trying to get out of him right now"
"This (depth chart) is not a representation of who's going to start Friday night, it's just where we are right now as we enter the week"
"We have seven offensive lineman that can start for us. Wheeler's had a great camp and we're going to continue to rotate those guys"
"We don't really look at it as who are the starting five, we look at as we know there are seven going in the game, in the rotation, Henderson, Feliciano, McDermott, Linder, Wheeler, Bunche and Flowers. The other thing, Gadbois is close, we've gotta see if we can push him to the point where he's a reliable offensive lineman for us."
On the recent transfers:
"We try to provide constant communication and feedback every day. So, nothing should ever come as a surprise. If a young man is surprised about where he is on the depth chart, we're not doing a good job of communicating."
"Each of our position coaches and coordinators sit down with every player three times a year, I sit down with every player three times a year...so, there is no surprise where they are. We delineate what they need to fix, where they need improvement and what they need to sustain to be a really good player and contributor."
"The problem is when kids don't communicate, they come in and say I want to transfer and they talk to anyone but the staff or the head coach."
"I struggle with it when they just get up and leave because, I was on the scout team for two years. My senior year at PSU, kyle brady, Ki-Jana Carter and kerry collins, that was our scout team...and that was number 1, 3 and 9 in the draft."
"When you start to improve your program and competition gets tighter, guys gotta dig down deep and just keep competing, and sometimes they're diggin, diggin and diggin and they're six inches away from striking gold and they turn, then they leave."
Rose said he talked to a parent over the weekend in regards to the team rules.
"We have five team rules."
(1) Protect the U, defend the team: Don't do stupid **** that reflects poorly on the school or team.
(2) Be early for everything: pretty self explanatory
(3) Don't whine: Don't bring negativity to the locker room
(4) Communicate: also, pretty self explanatory life skill.
(5) Treat people how you want to be treated: Another self explanatory rule
"If you're a guy, tryin to sneak out on thursday night and go to coconut grove and we're getting ready to play the gators...then we're going to have a problem. If you're not locked in today and getting ready for FAU, then you're going to have a problem, if you're messing around on a bye week and not taking care of yourself...you're going to have a probem and not with the head coach, it'll be with your team, the guys that have invested a lot over the last four years."
"Sometimes that's too much for some guys, the reality is, we don't have many rules"
