Ahmad moten is impressive [and staying for another year]

Agree he played really well. Mesidor played mostly DT so I’d say Mesidor, Barrow , Moten were our three best DTs v UF.

I want to see more. First, that OL was not very good so we may be getting a false positive read on all our interior guys. Second, Moten played great but he didn’t disrupt like our DTs of old or say Willis more recently.

This is Year 3 for him, so he needs to step up and show he’s a playoff caliber Miami DT. I don’t think he met that higher bar yesterday even though I did like his performance a lot.

What was the tradeoff in terms of NIL at NT going from Jackson to Moten/Campbell + whatever else the leftover cap room got us?

I was impressed with Moten! He’s a testament that a lot of these big guys need 2-3 years on campus. Most of them go from being the biggest kid in their districts in high school to being just another guy on the team until proven otherwise. I think he continues to get better with more games

Y3 for him, the ideal expected time for a high 3* to make some noise and see if he belongs or not. He played well in his rotational role and if that sustains, that will be huge for us for the rest of the year. He is the biggest guy we have, if he can step up as a DT4 at worst, that will do wonders for us. Loved what I saw from him!

I don’t think Moten will be a backfield disruptor like the old DT’s, but he looked very good yesterday against the run. This year’s DT’s need to be run stoppers first because the D-ends will take care of any pass rush. Unless offenses will commit to blocking 6 against 4, one of our D-ends will always have 1 on 1 opportunities. And then we can bring Kiko or Jaden Harris on a blitz every time they keep the extra blocker in.

Great day on the LOS for the good guys! Thinking aside from RT the Gator OL is decent, making the DL's performance all the more impressive.

Lmao. Now we got “not entering the portal” edits. **** this ****.
Honestly, I thought he was a 4th year guy saying he's coming back.
But now I just realized he's a 3rd year only.

Technically draft eligible still so I guess it's still an announcement he's coming back.

Big piece for the interior though for next year. He should play a lot.
