Does that mean those players at the top of the depth chart will get all the 1st team reps OR

That those players will be the starters @ BC on the 1st

I think the depth chart is set after the second scrimmage, and the remaining practices will be for getting the starters ready to play BC.

Another motivational ploy

Coach Al Golden said there are no games being played to motivate players.

“I’m not one of those ploy guys,” Golden said. “It is what it is. The problem is we have guys who think it is something that it isn’t. ‘Oh they’re going to play me anyway.’ It’s really not. As we coaches, this is Practice 13. We’re settling in now. If guys aren’t ready by Saturday, if guys aren’t making moves by Saturday, it’s over. After that, it’s time to move. We’re really not into playing games. You guys ask a lot of questions about a lot of guys that … we coach the guys who are out here every day and the guys who are dependable and reliable. That’s who we want to play with.”

just sayin...

Well the motivational ploy doesn't work if he tells everyone its a motivational ploy

Seems to me that they're pretty much set now. Other than some spots where we're inventing position battles or where there will be some platooning, is there any spot not set? We have to decide a little on the depth and see how some injuries shake out but it seems like they know who they want to play

You can see through him

So it's just a ploy huh? Then at what time do you set the depth chart and start game planning for BC? There's no ploy. Coaches know who their top guys are. You may have a couple shake ups due to injury or what not but this season is upon us and the coaches are ready to roll with what they got. It's time to **** or get off the pot "Seantrel". LOL!

Final scrimmage is Sat. Kids will get a couple of days off next week, and then classes start and they go to a regular schedule.

The entire season is a motivational ploy for next season.

From what I've read and heard from AG is that guys who practice hard and consistently execute will start the game. Then during the game, only the hot players will play, as long as their conditioning allows. Constant competition.

I'm sure AG has certain benchmarks these guys have to meet before they touch the field. But if the guys ahead of you have met, and in some cases exceeded those benchmarks, AG has no choice to but to put those guys on the field. Now, if Seantrel is as good as everyone makes him out to be, he should reclaim his spot. But he is certainly going to have to work like he's never worked before.
