ACC: Legit or Pretender

Besides the obvious (FSU and Clemson), which of these teams this year are Legit or Pretender:

Legit = Over 8.5 Wins (during the regular season)

#25 Maryland 4-0 (0-0)
Pitt 3-1 (2-1)
VT 4-1 (1-0)
NC State 3-1 (0-1)

vt is the only team that i've really watched and they remind me of florida last year. stud defense and an anemic, inconsistent offense that should win 9 games.

Maryland looks real good thus far, but we will see soon enough if they are legit. If they beat FSU, or make it close. I could see them as a 2 lose team.

Pitt looks like a 500 team

Virginia Tech, without a pure threat at RB, is kinda of scary. IMO they have a defense to keep them in games vs ACC foes, but that offense could lose them a game. Still i could see them winning 8 games.

NCST is a 500 team as well. Thier QB has thrown 1 TD pass to 5 Int thus far. Can't be legit with that.

You might want to include Miami in there:-)
 
This will be a true test for Maryland, can't really form an opinion on them based on one flukey win over West Virginia. I think they probably are an 8 win team right now.

Virginia Tech should win out besides the game against Miami. (UNC, Pitt, Duke, @BC, Maryland, @UVA) Product of their schedule more than a legit contender.

NC State could also run the table outside of FSU (UNC, Duke, @BC, East Carolina, Maryland)

Pitt is a 7 win team at best I think. Going to lose to VT, GT, ND and Miami.

I think Maryland is legit, and Diggs is dangerous. They should beat both NC State and VT.

Nc State is the only other team there I think will have above 500.

I think BC will give some teams problems this year.

MD's win over WVU makes them seem legit. It didn't at the time but with wvu beating osu it made md victory a quality win. Pitt will have 4 maybe 5 loses this year. VT you have to always assume is legit until they are knocked out of the race because we have seen them roll off 9 in a row to make the ACC championship game. As for NCstate they may only loose two games this year due to a favorable schedule but the two they loose will be in conference and division so they have to be pretenders in terms of ACC play.
