I read it a few times just to see what's happening. It makes me laugh and angry at the same time. I understand we're very very young, but man, we are getting very disrespected on all fronts. They don't have one player on our team as a top 25 player in the conference. Find that very hard to believe. Furthermore, there have been few articles or "spotlights" on our program. And, if there have been ones, they're focused on nothing but the scandal and recovering. Nothing about the newcomers, nothing about Stephen Morris and changing our recent QB performances, etc.

I really hope Al is using all of this disrespect as a motivation factor. I want a team that comes out swinging and playing hard all year. We may not have the horses to win more than 7 games, but I want a team that fights in each game and knocks some other teams around. I want FSU, VT, Clemson, and Georgia Tech to think in the back of their mind that the 'Canes are young and only getting better.

Dinich is woefully uninformed about the day to day of these teams to make predictions, especially about Miami. Can't really blame her, lots of teams to cover up and down the Eastern Seaboard.

She just operates under the assumption that because Miami lost however-many starters (these include Chase Ford, Harland Gunn, Washington, Forston, Vernon, Armstrong - guys who did anything last year) they won't be very good. She often justifies this by quipping about how Miami will be replacing them with Freshmen. I think she believes Miami will have starting freshmen all over the field...which isn't the case.

She isn't the only one. Stewart Mandel has written that Miami will "flat out stink" this year.

This won't change in 2012 until Miami beats some good teams.

Lazy journalism? Yup. But in all seriousness what has this team done in the last 8 years to deserve ANY kind of positive pub? Miami has no one to blame but themselves for this purgatory. Poor/slow/no decisions brought this team from the pinnacle to where it is. Now begins the climb back.

You could find out most everything you need to know about a team in around one day's worth of work. She just does a poor job. She can tell you lots of stuff about FSU, Clemson, and VT, but not jack**** about the other 9 teams.

I used to frequent it but like most things ESPiN, its complete basura. I watched the ACC preview show and they didnt mention the U once. At this point we dont deserve any hype but there are a lot of folks sleepin that deserve a good bucket of ice water wake up.

We were overrated for years because of who we were.

Now we're underrated because of who we have been.

That's just how it goes.

No excuses.

Those are the top teams in the ACC and who anybody else in the nation is gonna care about.

I don't expect anything to be said about us, much less it be positive. We haven't done jack for years, plus we're under sanctions, and we lost a ton of starters last year. If you were writing one article about the whole ACC, you wouldn't focus on us at all. You focus on the good teams.

Yeah but if she is going to cover the conference, then she be well educated on all 12 teams. Its not that much work to have a basic understanding of 12 different teams and how they look going into the season.

Just win. The rest takes care of itself. Go to BC and prove you aren't soft as snow, that's a start.

I'm with the earn the respect thing and I like that we're under the radar bigtime, but part of me still is vexed by it. It's like they all think that because of the looming sanctions we're just not even going to try. Like we're just sitting around moping through practices and whatnot. But yeah, we deserve to be overlooked. Let these kids go make a name for themselves.

I often wonder how it is that Dinich is the best ESPN could come up with as a writer covering a major conference.

She does no research, has no insight, doesn't understand the game and formulates her forecasts of what's ahead solely by looking in the rear view mirror.

Her only job is keeping up with the ACC, and so I'm not so quick to dismiss her lack of diligence as I am a national writer who covers all things college football, such as Stewart Mandell. She should know better because that's her job, but she doesn't.

I go to the ESPN blog but only to look at the links to the daily newspaper articles....I very rarely look at her columns and NEVER play her video reports.

If every team has to earn respect and praise then how do you all explain the hyped love FSU gets every year?

Dinich sucks. I want her paycheck if that's the quality of product ESPN expects from the position.

+ Half the posters here could do a better job than her.....half tanked.

Track record.

We've looked like crap the past several years. In the minds of sports personalities, the U is basically irrelevant. Consistent no-shows.

We start winning the games we're supposed to and beating teams we're NOT supposed to - we start once again to gain credibility.

Establish a new track record.
