We are WORSE in 2013 in the following categories within ACC play:

Rushing D went from 195 ypg in 2012 to 205 ypg in 2013

Opponent 3rd down conversions went from 42% in 2012 to 48% in 2013

Opponent 4th down conversions went from 50% to 80%

Opponent Red Zone TD % went from 63% to 69% and Total opponent Red Zone scoring % went from 83% to 92%

Oh, you say only care about scoring defense my pal? Well Scoring defense went from 32 ppg in 2012 to 34 ppg in 2013 against ACC foes

Pass defense improved by 25 yards per game but is still ranked 12th in ACC.

We give up the same amount of explosive plays per game as last year at 17.5 plays of 10 yards are more.

Sacks per game are up this year by .5 but still dead last in the ACC

Tackles for Loss are down from 4.5 per game in 2012 to 4.3 per game in 2013 (small change, still a joke)

We matched our INT total from last year at 7 thru 6 games but are still in bottom half of ACC (ranked 9) and haven't had a pick in last two games with against two QBs who LOVE throwing them.

Last year after 8 ACC games we forced 9 fumbles to rank 2nd in the Conference. This year we have forced 5 through 6 games

Changes might be small YoY for some categories but when the previous year was the worst defense in school history and the numbers are trending up...

I'm confident that D'Onofrio will not be here next year one way or another. It's bad for Miami and it's bad for him professionally. One more year of this on his resume and he would be lucky to coach LBs at whichever high school Patrick Nix is coaching at these days...

I believe getting worse on defense after losing only one starter and playing a softer schedule is the 7th Pillar of Success.
 
Well just to clarify again these numbers are against ACC opponents in 12 and 13 only. Because I'm sick of hearing how we have to get back to sacks and turnovers like we did against FAU UF USF and Savannah St.

Either the players haven't gotten better at all, which is possible and related to corching

Or the offenses in the ACC are getting better and we aren't keeping up which again, is possible and related to corching

Of course we did. We ******* played FAU, SSU, USF in 3 out of our first four games.

Al will get it fixed. He's working his tail off to get it fixed and we will get it fixed. **** that dude. He needs to take his *** back to new jersey and take his boyfriend with him

Offensive numbers are down as well. But the last two games should help those figures for the offense where I'm not confident the last two games will help the defense.

Rushing yards: 164 ypg in 2012; 159 ypg in 2013 (7th)

Passing yards: 306 ypg in 2012; 289 ypg in 2013 (3rd)

Scoring: 35.4 ppg in 2012; 27.3 ppg in 2013 (6th)

Total Offense: 470 ypg in 2012; 448 in 2013 (3rd)

3rd down conversion: 39% in 2012; 38% in 2013

4th down conversion: 57% in 2012; 33% in 2013

Red Zone TD %: 61% in 2012; 50% in 2013

Red Zone Total %: 89% in 2012; 85% in 2013

Averaging 15 explosive plays (10 +yards) a game which is same as last year

Averaging a half a sack more given up this year

TFL allowed is the same

INTs are up: 6 total in 2012 in 8 games; 9 INT in 2013 thru 6 games

We lost 3 fumbles in 2012. Lost 4 so far thru 6 games

We are worse with a better record. Only reason we have a better record is we played 2.5 JV teams and were able to hold of juggernauts (wake and UNC) off at the end.

I guess you get worse before you get better...is that in the manual?

Rd this is great stuff. Where did you get this info, is there a place to just pull the conference numbers. I know Golden is spouting improvement to anyone who will listen but doesnt mention the opponents have gotten easier. Im not completely sure but dude is looking like a grade A Shiester

Found the site yesterday after Chris Brown from Smart Football tweeted about it.

shows you stats splits for each team. So you can see all our stats against ACC, AQ schools, Top 25 schools etc.
 
Those numbers, both the offense and defense, are disgusting. We've got a few more years of **** folks.
