Quarterback (3): Preston Dewey, David Thompson, Gray Crow
An obvious position of need going in, and well-addressed by Golden and Co. No sure-fire superstar, but we did get our 1) heady, well-coached kid that was high on our board from day one, 2) Big, strong-armed underproducer that may turn into something with good coaching, and 3) super-athletic multi-sport athlete. All-in-all, if you're going to take 3 QBs in a class, these are the 3 you take.
Grade - A-
RB (2): Duke Johnson, Danny Dillard
I would have personally loved for us to sign one more big back like Borque or Wes Brown. Under normal circumstances, I'd give this position a B, but knowing how VITAL Duke has been to the success of this recruiting class, I just can't do it.
Grade - A-
WR (6): Malcolm Lewis, Robert Lockhart, Angelo Jean-Louis, Herb Waters, Jontavious Carter, D'Mauri Jones
A big and well-balanced group of kids. Some real studs and a couple potential "reaches" (though I hate that term.) The top 4 (Lewis, Lockhart, AJL, Waters) are as talented as any 4 WR recruits in the nation, IMO. Nice haul!
Grade - A
TE (0-1): Hollifield or bust.
Either way I say bust. Rack 'em up and watch Golden reel in 3 next year.
Grade - F
OL (3): Erick Flowers, Danny Isidora, Taylor Gadbois
I'm going to assume for the moment that Avery Young isn't coming, and it would have been nice to have 4 OL in this class. That said, show me a meaner, tougher trio of man-meat that can move as well as these cats, and I'll show you an all-death-row-inmate production of "The King and I."
Grade - B+
DE (4) - Tyriq McCord, Dwayne Hoilett, Jake O'Donnell, Jelani Hamilton
McCord and Hamilton are beasts and I LOVE O'Donnell's film. ****, I like Hoilett's too - all-in-all, a very nice group.
Grade - B+
DT (3) - Jacoby Briscoe, Earl Moore, DeQuan Ivery
Bodies. Lots of them. That's what we needed. We missed out on some of the big boys (Goldman, Hamilton), but we did fill a need. Nobody here really jumps off the page, though Ivery intrigues me greatly.
Grade - C+
LB (3) - Raphael Kirby, Josh Witt, Gabriel Terry
Another position of need. Losing Northrup hurts - a lot. That said, Kirby is straight beast-mode, and I've read nothing but good things about Witt and Terry. I still would have liked another 1-2 backers in this class.
Grade - C+
DB (8) - Tracy Howard, Deon Bush, Nate Dortch, Vernon Davis, Rayshawn Jenkins, Ladarius Gunter, Antonio Crawford
Holy crap. Seriously, holy crap. Show me a better DB class in the nation. Go on, I dare you. Howard and Bush are the headliners of course, but I LOVE Davis and Crawford. Dortch has serious potential as well. Recruiting job of the year at our most pressing position of need, IMO. Bravo!
Grade - A+

Didn't sign any. Didn't need any.
Grade - INC
Overall Grade: Considering all that Golden went through this year - a team that quit, looming sanctions, 6-6 season, blah blah blah, how can you not appreciate what he's done/is doing here? Final grade of A.
