2019 LB. Rated as the number 2 LB in the nation number 59 player overall. He plays at Biloxi High where my daughters is a cheerleader. He is an animal. Hits extremely hard, when he hits you don't go forward. Anyways, I was talking to him after the game, I asked him what he thought about Miami, says he loves Diaz's defense and would have high interest in them. (I'm not sure if we have offered). Just talking to him, he seems to be following what Miami is doing.

Send the name and this info to recruiting office. Drill down on hurricanesports.com and look thru contact info in football office. There are some names with phone numbers and email addresses. Send them a message with the same info. I know from personal experience that they are focusing with almost tunnel vision on Florida kids. Out of state kids have to be truly elite--almost on another level. Like D.J. Johnson or Brevin Jordan. A friend, former UM player, is coaching an excellent LB prospect in northern VA. Seems to be no interest from UM although he can turn out to be at least a solid Div. 1 player, if not better. They can get comparable players in Fla., I guess. With the unique south Fla. mentality plus the coaches know them better. Still, if Starks is that exceptional, should certainly try.

My reflexive reaction is to say that the staff knows who the **** this kid is already if he's the #2 rated LB in the country and has or will gauge his interest. But recruiting is weird as DBJ just told a story that if true exemplifies it as supposedly DJ Johnson had to reach out to us before the staff committed to spend the time and resources recruiting a Sacramento, California kid. Now that may be a really oversimplified tale from Ol' DBJ but it also wouldn't surprise me if we're not going all in on the nationally ranked kids until we have a better idea than some of other programs if the kid is legitimately interested.

LSU football target Donte Starks eligible to play at Biloxi | The Sun Herald

Article from the local paper of record explains his transfer history.

Where do you live in Biloxi? I grew up on Halstead Bayou in Ocean Springs.

I live in Ancient Oaks on the water. Just past Sunkist Country Club.

Kool verified the story. Said DJ had to reach out to them
