A discussion of Culture with a simple question:

SInce no one really wants to break down the X's and O's of the UM-UVa game, Ima change gears a little axe a question designed to get you guys talking about what makes a Miami Hurricane.


Question: If FSU QB Jacob Coker is available for transfer and could come in and play in 2014, would you want him? Now Im not asking if you prefer him to Williams/Olson/Kaaya/Crow/Rosier, skill-wise. Im asking if you could accept a kid who has been a Nole for his playing career and will simply come in an play one year for us at QB, similar to David Gilbert and the D tackle from UVA (forgot his name).

Some random thoughts I have:

* QB is a different animal than D tackle or DB. Bringing in a kid from a rival skool to play QB is a big thing to swallow as a fan, no? I saw how hard it was for Brock Berlin to get accepted here. ****, many fans STILL dont think of him as a Cane. Is QB a different animal or does it matter?

* THe one year thing is concerning to me too. Berlin transfered in, sat out a year then won the starting job over a 5 star Cali QB. Is it worse for a kid to come in from an FSU or uf and only play one year for us?


What are your thoughts on this issue??? Does culture matter or is it all about the free agency market?

I would only take a kid for one year who had the talent of a Russell Wilson. No joke, the guy would have to be special.

Two years, sure, but not one.

doesn't he have 2 years? He's a sophomore and could play right away since he's on his way to graduating.

After the last Decade of Canes QB play..point out whoever doesn't consider Brock a real Cane so I can punch them in the mouth.

I wouldn't want him. The verdict is still out on Golden but one that can't be questioned is he knows how to get the right numbers needed for field a football team. So from that stand point, we'll have plenty of QB competition here.
