i new we had more than ******* 5-6 spots with the recent transfers and NLI release of munoz. Some idiots were like we had 5-6 spots left. That being said, this means that that bs about not having enough space for emerson is not true.

And @twes.305, educate yourself on the NCAA's scholarship rules before you start calling people idiots. 25 initial counters per year; 85 scholarships max on the roster. Just because we have room on the roster before getting to the hard cap of 85, does not mean we have enough initial counters left this year to get to 85.

And I don't think anyone ever said we didn't have space for Emerson. You might be thinking of Boykin.

You're welcome. And it is by no means just me, several other posters have put some work in to try and figure this out and there have been a couple of threads on this topic in the past couple of weeks.

But I believe the current consensus is 6 spots remaining.

as of right now we have 15 people committed/signed, 3 EE, im pretty sure all three count for the previous year. Now thats 12 add the 5 transfers, gives you 17. The new walk-on rule does apply, in this case leaving us with 8 spots.

there were a few rumors about not having space for Emerson and thats why we started to trend down, that being said it was just rumors and this proves it wasn't true.

I hear you. The challenge is things are fluid. A QB commits, we're down to 5 spots. A 2019 DT gets released for his LOI, we're back up to 6. It's just the nature of the beast.

So does that give us 3 transfer spots outside of the 6 for signing day, or only six total to sign as a whole? Appreciate it.

This is the part that I think needs more investigation. Specifically, the timing of Clay James being placed on scholarship relative to his enrollment. Does anyone know when he enrolled and whether the new rule changes effect him? I might be missing another walk on...
