75 yards on 7 plays and then….

118 on the next 50.

Pretty insane.

Defense only gave up 7 points. But Wake went 75 for a TD on 7 plays to start the game and we all said “fire everyone”. I heard plenty of boos. And rightfully so.

And then for the next 3.5 quarters, they got 2.4 yards every time they snapped the ball.

The defense finally did what we expected them to all year. Dominate a bad team. That was domination. Their offense scored 7. Our defense scored 7. I still saw plenty I didn’t like but gotta give credit where it’s due. I can’t imagine we’ve had many ACC games in the last 20 years where the opponent didn’t even get 200 yards.

Wait….i thought we got steamrolled the first half and then had to make 2nd half adjustments…

That qb ****meher had 86 yards passing. 30 or so came on that early TD

The first half was brutal in the sense of thinking we've been here before and it isn't fun.

Second half, what a relief, we've still got a chance to finish out with wins. Guys wanted it more and IMHO, wore them out.

Just keep winning as that gives us a chance to win the next one. We'll see where it leads.

I get it. Honestly, I do. But re-read my OP. I said we did what we should do, which is dominate bad teams. We did that today.

So, I’m not gonna do the BUT it was (insert team name here), because it was JUST cal and it was JUST VT and it was JUST Duke and it was JUST GT and we got our **** pushed in every week.

So, when we don’t, I’m gonna give props. Cause I sure as **** have been ****ting on this unit for a while now. They didn’t deserve it today. They were dominating after the first drive.

Spot on. And confidence is a good thing no matter who we are playing though obviously a totally different animal next week

Couldn't agree more. Defense played a good game after the first couple of drives. I hope they can keep up the effort going into the most important game of the year (so far).
 
Encouraged and happy for the d. But wake did not test us. Inexplicably they did not run the stuff that confuses our defense. In the 2nd half I don't think they ran a single play with motion.
 
I try to be patient with porsters here but sometimes they just make me scratch my head.



All week long people were saying things like expect Wake to put up huge numbers and score their season high against us. Blah, Blah, Blah.

Ok.


They did not do either and the Defense actually looked very good in the second half.

Now people are saying things like ah they suck. They are horrible anyway. Do it against Cuse. IT was Wake.

You cannot have it both ways people.

So what?! The D has played crappy against other bad teams this year. How about let’s be grateful for today’s game from them and hope they can keep it up.
