Stacy Coley is a beast thread

It will be hard for Coley to crack the rotation with WR being 6-7 deep. But if he does make it in the rotation I predict 300 yards 3 TD's and if not he will get redshirted.

Best thing would be to redshirt him but he's got too much talent too keep him off the field. A true number one receiver we lack that can change the game for us.

how do you compare

Griffin vs Coley?
Dorset vs Coley?
Waters vs Coley?
Lewis vs Coley?

Coley over griffin

As of right now all those other guys over coley because they have actually done things in college games. Gotta wait to see what's up with coley.

Fair enough. Prospect wise Coley is ahead of all of them with Malc and Griffin right behind him. Then Herb and Dorset. JMO though.

And Coley is better prospect than Cooper but its close.

With the depth we have Stacy really has to show out once he hits campus if he is to play this year.

Not to bring up a sore subject but to me this makes me feel good mentioning this.

We all know what Amari Cooper did to the SEC last year as a freshman. No one can tell me Coopers film is anymore impressive than Coley against similar enough competition. IMO the skies the limit for Coley and by the end of the year the staff could be forced to have him on the field ala Duke.

I want to agree with you because this kid has that type of talent. Just hoping the offense makes a conscious effort to go back to the days of calling plays based on our athletes being better than their athletes in the passing game.

Example: 3rd and 1 on our 45; yet we dial up a bomb, just because we can.

At that point..
WE BACK

Coley is talented, but its so **** hard to judge just how 'special' he is cause he literally jogs is half his plays. I'm not sure if he's THAT GOOD or his competition is THAT bad. His highlights are plays of him doing just enough to show you he's better than the rest but gives you no indication of what his ceiling may actually be... Its amazing and frustrating and the same time lol

If he learns to put 100% into every play, there's no way Golden can keep him off the field. If he decides to only try when the ball is coming his way, he'll redshirt and spent the year being 'de-recruited'.
While I'm sure he didn't go 100% every play, I think he is one of the kids that is so athletic and smooth that he just appears effortless.

Coley will have in the 20-25 catch range, 450-500 yards receiving and 3-4 TDs. I expect him to go off at least once though similar to Waters last year. I also think Griffin will play and have more TDs than Coley, just less yards. Guy will be deadly in the red zone (if he qualifies). I think both will make a run for Freshman All-American.

Quick story about Coley...

We're about to play against Northeast in the first round of the playoffs. I'm watching extensive film of Northeast's offense and there's this Sophomore that is literally making people look foolish. Keep in mind, the main film I'm watching is Northeast against Boyd Anderson. BA is filled with D1 prospects and this kid wearing #3 on Northeast is making them look slow and inferior.

So Friday night comes and we're playing Northeast. The game is back and forth, a real shootout. The #3 kid runs a route in the middle of the field and as he's catching the ball our Safety (who's now at Penn) knocks him out. Cold. Sleeping. Literally. Arms froze and all. They stop the game for roughly 10 minutes. They wake him up and eventually carry him off the field.

A few series later, in the 4th quarter, we're running Cover-3 and Northeast's WR just flat out smokes our CB. He beat him so bad that he had to slow down to catch the ball and still had enough to time to gear back up and score.

I look to the endzone and who is it? #3. SMH. Game, set, match. Game-winning TD.

Kid. Is. A. Beast.

We aren't 6 or 7 deep. Talent wise, he is better than anyone on the roster but he has to learn to do the little things and earn his way. Dorsett, Hurns, Scott, and Waters are the only guys who have a major edge over Coley at the moment. No one else has even seen the field besides Lewis who is coming off a major injury. Hurns has yet to get through a season healthy. Scott is one mistake from being off the team and Dorsett has drop issues at times. No ones spot is save if Coley comes in and handles his business and proves you can't keep him off the field.

Judging by the fact that the staff was really high on Lockhart and tried like **** to get him on the field even though we didn't need him I think if Coley shows out, he will play. And Coley is a much better talent than Lockhart.

sounds like reality

He's more talented than Amari Cooper IMO. He'll be The most talented WR the second he steps on campus, the question is, where is his head? If he comes in ready to work right away and gets in the rotation he could have a HUGE year. I could see him being a Freshman All American. However, if he has some problems adjusting he could easily shirt. Dude is a monster and probably the best player Ive ever seen live in So Fla and Ive been watching football down here for almost 10 years.
