Seriously worst call ever. This is not an al golden bash but man are coaches horrible at in game strategies. This irritates me to no end. This particular situation was Fireable. The d hasn't made a stop in 5 games and u give them the ball down 8. Disgusting

Microcosm of Al Golden's ***** made philosophy ina nutshell. These clowns have no understanding of what it means to be aggressive.

Oh and can we stop the hurry up on 3rd and short. I know in practice our players are never lined and it works every time but other teams actually know what they are doing. The only thing it messes up is our blocking. Line up and power it for the first

His actions speak very loudly here that he is sold on his defense and has the confidence in them. D'Onfrio is going no where

If he did not punt it would show that he had not faith in the defense, he is delusional and believes the defense can make stops

Yep that was a ***** call. Mid way through the 4th down 8, mid field I think and you punt when you know your D can't stop ****.

This goes back to what many of us were saying. Goldens whole football philosophy is pussified. They don't trust their players and have a whole defensive philosophy based on the other team beating itself. That 4th and 1 is just a microcosm of all that is wrong with golden and how he looks at football. From the weakening of our schedule to implementing a soft defense to jumping up and down celebrating close wins against teams like wake. The guy is soft as baby ****. Accept it now or later it doesn't matter.

Golden is not the right man for the job.

the hurry up thing killed me as well.. and this wasn't the first time, this is reoccurring..when we need to hurry up (be it being behind by multiple scores late in the game, or having the ball before the end of a half)..we hustle to the line, but lackadaisically take forever to actually hike it- it's as if we are actually trying to milk the clock- it's just ****** dumb.

the whole thing was set up by the soft shoulder display of our senior qb running out of bounds just short of the 1st down marker on 3rd. stick your shoulder down and run through the db or die trying. goodness.

I don't know of he is right or wrong and I don't know that the call means anything about him, I think it's the typical coach call. 99% of them do it. They always fall back on play field position. It's in grained in these guys. It is 100% the wrong call though. Even if u have the number 1 d, u don't punt there.

Sickening. First Mo doesn't give his body up to make the first. Then Golden kicks and puts the game in the hands of that D. Game over.

When he didn't go for 2, knowing Duke would scorre withn minutes, then punting on that 4th, knowing Duke would score in minutes, were both criminal offenses.

Get rid of that dumbass. NOBODY on the planet will hire him as head coach now.

Figured it out.

Golden and Dorito don't set to win, don't play to win.

They rely on opponents mistakes over their own mistake avoidance to win.

You see, they've never coached but against half-assed teams, and relied on other teams to self-destruct.

Problem is, they're playing real football now.
