See this is how it happens. This is how the derails and trouble starts. I can state what a thread is about 15 different ways in an OP as clear as a a perfect day and there’s 0 chance someone won’t muck it up.

Happens in **** near every thread. Someone posts a smart ***, snarky, controversial (insert adjective) remark, another responds and a battle ensues.

You, and those of your partners in crime @JD08, @Canes2082, issuing thread bans, putting the children in time out, and starting a new thread when one gets out of hand seems to be the most effective ways to derail the nonsense that arises in many threads.

Quite frankly, I don’t think there’s any way to end it completely. Best case scenario is to manage it as best as you and your cohorts can. All things considered, y’all do a pretty good job of it.
