Keep in mind we don't burn much clock up at all offensively. So plays per game have to be up (both offensively and defensively)

It's a big reason why most of the SEC teams have great defensive "rankings."

But don't tell ESPN that.

its harder to win games when your defense is giving up 33 points per game.

The offense should manage the game better and stop turning the ball over in the red zone.

Defense played awesome today. We had IIRC 5 turnovers. Unfortunately we didn't turn many of those into points. A great team capitalizes on **** like that. If the Catholics or FSU turn the ball over that many times or even 1-2 times you need to capitalize.

The defense did not play awesome. Yes they had several turnovers, but they also gave up 664 yards. I don't care how many turnovers they had and if the offense had gone 3 and out every series, if you give well over 600 yards, you did not play awesome defense; especially when it's against NCST.

This. And there is zero reason that you can't score in two minutes time and then force a three and out on defense. Just because you score fast doesn't mean that your defense is also going to give up a lot of yards/points.

We need to treat each possesion like a 2 min drill (hurry up offense) just seems to work better for us...!

LOL at the defense playing well. They got trained on. We had a 23-7 lead and our defense allowed them to come screaming back just like they allowed GT to do so last week. Our offense wasn't perfect and should have capitalized (Wieclaw sucks) but in the end they bailed out our defense. Winning shootouts does not = good defensive play.

I endorse Bennubird's post.
