I am not sure what to think of the game. In general, Duke is a difficult place to play (maybe the most difficult). Duke has a bunch of flaws but those flaws tend to go away when they are at home. Our guards have a mismatch over their guards as do our big men (if we can get good play down low) against UVA, Duke was out hustled all game and out rebounded 33-21.
Now for the real and recent. Duke finished their game around 11:00PM and had to travel back to Puke. 4 of their 5 starters logged 34 minutes or more and Plumlee (aka Long Face) played the whole game. I don't expect Seth Curry to put up those numbers tonight again (7-14FG, 4-8 from 3 and 10-12 FT).
Now for the POSSIBLE. They are coming back to town with a loss, they are coming back after dressing Ryan Kelly for the first time since (didn't log 1 minute) whenever and they likely remember the last time we embarrassed them. Does this mean anything? Maybe. I expect Puke to come out strong and play well for the first 10 minutes. If we can hold them or keep up, I expect those legs to wear down quickly. If we come out strong, then the sky is the limit.
As for Ryan Kelly, if he plays I doubt he plays much. They need him healthy for the tourney so no reason to force him back if he is not ready.
Expecting Larkin and RJ to put up big games.
Go Canes!
