That was my first thought man. Shît, this is almost “all them boys from Miami that real will be at Jimbo Camp.”Is this too close to the infamous Tim Brewster quote?
“Looking for some real ones“ is not cultural appropriation like with Brewster. That was my first thought man. Shît, this is almost “all them boys from Miami that real will be at Jimbo Camp.”
I literally just did that.“Looking for some real ones“ is not cultural appropriation like with Brewster.
First of all say that out loud to yourself, “looking for some real ones“.
That could be a middle aged white guy saying that. You could say it. Like you were looking for some real Hass avocados. You’re at the Fresh Market, you’re a snippy white guy “looking for some real ones.”
Now say this out loud “All them boys from Miami that real will be at Jimbo camp”...notice the difference?
Do you see yourself saying that at the Fresh Market?
Picture yourself at the produce aisle just next to the crab dip saying “All them boys from Miami that real will be at Jimbo camp” out loud. People will laugh at that, coming from you, but they wouldn’t laugh at “looking for some real ones “
Have I made my case?
What was the infamous quote? I must have missed it.Is this too close to the infamous Tim Brewster quote?
Post #5.What was the infamous quote? I must have missed it.
I literally just did that.
First, I envisioned myself back in the Fresh Market in Richmond and the person working in produce asked me if I wanted organic Italian plum tomatoes grown in Mexico and I said “no thank you, I’m looking for some real ones” and I grabbed a bag of San Marazano tomatoes.
Then I envisioned myself in the same situation in the Richmond Fresh Market and this time when the person working in produce asked me if I wanted organic Italian plum tomatoes grown in Mexico I just looked at him and quipped “all them Italian plum tomatoes that real will be in San Marzano bag.”
You’re absolutely right. There is a difference. I just had to experience it myself as you suggested.
I recommend....You took my allegory to another level.
Well done.
Also, what tomatoes would you recommend for homemade salsa?
Roma Tomatoes....I do one that my GF loves using different color Cherry Tomatoes...but the prep (dicing them) is a pain....
Good God... you just brought this all full circle. (Read from top of page.) Those are Italian plum tomatoes. Do you recommend the organic ones grown in Mexico or the San Marzano type they have in the bag at Fresh Market sometimes? Even the San Marzanos they have there aren’t exactly the real ones as they’re grown in California with San Marzano seeds.Roma Tomatoes....I do one that my GF loves using different color Cherry Tomatoes...but the prep (dicing them) is a pain....
In my experience she always prefers the bigger ones. Always go with the most meat. Never let's you downGood God... you just brought this all full circle. (Read from top of page.) I’m thinking the Roma’s because those San Marzano’s they have at Fresh Market are small so there’d be too much tomato skin in the tomato skin to tomato meat ratio but if you like that like the cherry tomatoes your girlfriend uses then I’d get the San Marzanos which are a little bigger than the cherry tomatoes.
I agree....I love the crunchy exterior of them....I used to be into Tomato growing big time....had em all...Celebrity...Better Boy...Beefsteak...etc....Good God... you just brought this all full circle. I stand corrected, they’re grown in Canada and they have them in Richmond so maybe they’ll have them in SoFlo too.I agree....I love the crunchy exterior of them....I used to be into Tomato growing big time....had em all...Celebrity...Better Boy...Beefsteak...etc....
BraggartNot to brag but my mom used to grow cherry tomatoes in her backyard.
