Florida's 2026 Class may not be as deep as the 24 and 25 classes but there are some studs at the top. Two guys I've been keeping a close eye on are right here from South Florida and they're both picking up a lot of steam on the recruiting trail.

Alex Constanza (Westminster Academy 6'8" Wing) is a super skilled wing who can score from all 3 levels. Has picked up a bunch of high major offers and is already regarded as a top 10 player nationally for the 2026 class. He's playing travel ball on the Nike EYBL and doing work. If not already, definitely a name that should be at the top of Miami's 2026 recruiting list.

Another local prospect in this class that Miami should keep an eye on is Marcis Ponder (Norland 7'0" Post). Very intriguing prospect who only picked up a basketball for the first time last year. Holds an offer from Miami for football, but traded in his cleats for high tops after hitting a 6 inch growth spurt in the 8th grade. Has dropped about 50 lbs within the last year and has shown tremendous improvement in his game during that span. Picked up his first P5 offers (Alabama and Illinois) this week after going toe to toe in a match-up last weekend vs. Sam Funches, who many consider to be the #1 big in the country.

Never too early to start building relationships with the top local talent.

Hopefully we've been successful enough over the last 3 or 4 years that he would consider us.

But this is a no brainer. **** "finding the right player for your system". You can't let talent like this walk without at least an offer.

Coach L has to do better when it comes to scouting Florida kids. Too many NBA prospects have left our backyard without even an offer.

Looks like we're going to be late to the party on this one as well. Already holds offers from fsu, Illinois, MIss St., Alabama, UCF, etc. He's a Miami kid and still waiting on a Miami offer. Don't even think we're actively recruiting him. Then we wonder why we can't land them later on.

Got a chance to watch this local kid this weekend. Definitely a kid our staff needs to get on now. A walking mismatch. About 6’7” or 6’8” wing that can put it on the floor and get buckets. Shoots it fairly well. Not saying he needs to be offered right now but definitely a kid to keep tabs on. Remember the name Collin Paul.

UPDATE: According to his IG, was offered today July 9, 2024.

Our staff has got to stay on Marcis Ponder. Looks a lot better today than he did as a freshmen in his first year playing basketball. High upside. Monster in the paint. Goes after every rebound, contests every shot and dunks everything around the rim. Some national pundits have him as a top 30 player now.

Have we even offered anyone?
It's still very early in the process for 2026 kids and with the transfer portal now in play, early offers aren't as common as in past years. With that said, I'm assuming they've offered a few of the very top guys on their board already. If I'm not mistaken, one of those offers went to local stud (Alex Constanza, Westminster Academy).
