Florida's 2026 Class may not be as deep as the 24 and 25 classes but there are some studs at the top. Two guys I've been keeping a close eye on are right here from South Florida and they're both picking up a lot of steam on the recruiting trail.
Alex Constanza (Westminster Academy 6'8" Wing) is a super skilled wing who can score from all 3 levels. Has picked up a bunch of high major offers and is already regarded as a top 10 player nationally for the 2026 class. He's playing travel ball on the Nike EYBL and doing work. If not already, definitely a name that should be at the top of Miami's 2026 recruiting list.
Another local prospect in this class that Miami should keep an eye on is Marcis Ponder (Norland 7'0" Post). Very intriguing prospect who only picked up a basketball for the first time last year. Holds an offer from Miami for football, but traded in his cleats for high tops after hitting a 6 inch growth spurt in the 8th grade. Has dropped about 50 lbs within the last year and has shown tremendous improvement in his game during that span. Picked up his first P5 offers (Alabama and Illinois) this week after going toe to toe in a match-up last weekend vs. Sam Funches, who many consider to be the #1 big in the country.
Never too early to start building relationships with the top local talent.
GO CANES!
