Anyone bother to look? I haven’t seen this anywhere on this board or X. If so nuke this thread but wow this is crazy.
-Sooners were 10-2 and didn’t have a single top 25 win in the B12.
-LSU Finished 9-3 and only had 2 losses in the SEC and a loss to a very good FSU team
OU finished #12

Before the season and also last year when the 12 team playoff was announced this board had many posts illustrating that 10 wins was enough to be top 10 pretty much every year.

The rankings are subjective and the format of the playoff is dictating how people rank teams.

Also Nick Saban deserves a little blame. After his first couple national titles at Alabama rankings seemed normal. However his sustained dominance started skewing towards giving teams the benefit of the doubt because of previous years.

That's why, throughout the season we've seen teams lose a game and stay in the top 5 or 10.
