It's a Haitian name, it's pronounced Jay Avy-Unn
Hey LCE, this is not related to football, but OT.
noticed a lot of the Haitians in SFL have less traditional names. Up here, theyre usually just typical French catholic names, like Jean Francois, Luc, Jean Philippe etc. Mind you most go to Quebec, I guess the English speakers from Haiti head to Florida, meanwhile the French speakers go to Quebec? Am I crazy for thinking this?

Most of the Haitians in South FL speak more creole than just French because South FL is much closer to Haiti than Montreal is & has roots that are closer to home, since Haitians have been in Miami & South FL in general for nearly 60's years when most of them left to escape from Baby Doc Duvalier's reign.

There are a lot of traditional French speakers in South FL too, but culturally most Haitians just prefer to speak Creole because it's a way to connect & reclaim your ancestry & have pride in your heritage.

French is the primary language in Quebec as is, so of course most of the Haitians there will speak more French due to it being apart of their education as kids.

the haitians names you see like that are not direct from haiti.Majority are 2nd generations who are acclimating or fitting into south florida culture so they chose more American names.

a lot of Jamaicans migrated to Panama to build the canal and ended up settling. As a result many Panamanians are of Jamaican heritage. Just a little history brethren.
I'm more than aware, my mother is Cimarron.
