Looks like he's next in line to get a QB offer from Lashlee. Not many realistic options left from this QB class, so we will eventually have to lock in on a target

He’s a talented kid but I’m not a fan of taking bigger QBs when they don’t have an arm that make you go “dang that’s a pretty good arm”. TVD was a pitcher and pitchers don’t do any heavy lifting because you don’t want them stiff but I can’t find anything that says Chayden plays baseball or basketball. If we get him then I don’t expect anything more than a above average arm.

Arm strength is overrated in my opinion. We have a huge list of a big arm QBs who have failed here. Accuracy, Pocket presence and QB IQ are the most important things in my opinion. Peery has a good enough arm to make all the throws.

Morris comes to mind when you mentioned big arm QB's. He had an arm and a half but was so inconsistent and never took heat off his short throws.

Yeah but overall he was a solid QB for us. Jaccory Harris and Nkosi Perry are probably the biggest examples. Fortunately for us it looks like Lashlee is Targeting QBs who are more accurate and have the ability to extend plays in the pocket. It's a bit of a down year with our QB options but im sure we will find someone. I'm hoping we just make a run at JT Daniels instead of signing a QB. He has to sit a year anyways, so he could be our starter for a year or two after King leaves. TVD can then take over for him as a Redshirt Sophomore or Junior with 2-3 years of eligibility.

He was and unfortunately his senior year was hindered because of that achilles injury suffered against Savannah State. Yea I think getting a portal qb might be our best option since they could sit for a year and learn the system then compete with Van Dyke in 2021.

6'2 210lbs 4-star out of Chatsworth CA, goes to Sierra Canyon (same school as 2021 4-star CB DJ Harvey)

Had a very good Junior season with 3,401yds 24TD's & 1INT.

Has a good enough arm, gets the ball out on time, displays very good accuracy & delivers the ball with velocity into tight Windows. The throw @:48 on his tape was nice. Has bit of wind up & his release could be sped up but otherwise shows very good ability to make every throw hitting every part of the field & is an upper body thrower. Is a pure pocket passer, not much mobility, can climb the pocket & locate the open man, but not much of scrambler or runner by any standard. He fits the mold of classic Southern Cali QB, high productivity, plays well from a pristine pocket, not much adversity.

Sierra Canyon is school that's known for some pretty famous people attending, a lot of celebs kids went there. Marvin Bagley III from Duke went to Sierra Canyon as well, but Chatsworth is near Northridge, Tarzana, Hidden Hills, Calabasas etc.. It's a fairly upper middle class/wealthy area.

IMO is a more of a last resort take if we can't get Milore, Davis or Braxton.

He's primailry being recruited by Louisville & Boise St, he reminds me of Chase Garbers, accurate Southern Cali QB with an above average arm.

Don't really see an immediate starter with this kid though, more of a redshirt & develop guy.

Well Milroe is probably Texas or Alabama and Davis is all Auburn. Not sure of Lashlee interest in Braxton either. What do you think of Kai Horton?

I posted about this kid yesterday, along with Millen, Horton, and Lourd.

He wouldn't be a bad take, IMHO, but if I had my choice, I would take Clay Millen or Kai Horton first.

When you start to comb for the second tier kids …. (whatever the **** that means) …. I typically default to the kids who show they got it between the ears, even if they show some physical limitations.. All decent high school Qb's can be made on tape to look like they're Joe Montana. It's the ones with the good decisonmaking and discipline who are the ones that have the lowest risk and the highest hit rate. And that's true no matter how athletic or physically imposing a QB is.

They all have physical flaws at this level. ****, Earl Morrall changed Jim Kelly's release when he got to UM. None of them come as finished products. You can make QB's bigger, faster, stronger, but as a wise man once said: "you cant fix stupid."

The offer is coming. I just have no confidence in getting a top tier QB without any progress on O. Lashlee has been great so far but he's got a real hard sell

Agreed.

I just read a recruiting update that we're not all that interested in Taulia, which I agree with, I guess I'm in the minority on that but I don't think he's a very good QB at all.

And people underestimate our chances with Davis & Milroe, yes Davis is a heavy Auburn lean & will probably commit to them at some time, but he also said himself he's going to take all his OV's before he makes a final decision & Miami will definitely get an OV from Davis.

Also as I posted literally months ago in the Milroe thread, Milroe is super close with the King family, D'Eriq's dad coached Jalen in 7v7 ball when he was coming up & Jalen, D'Eriq & his brother are all very good friends. Plus Lashlee has known Jalen since he was a Freshman.

Both Bama & Miami will be putting heavy pressure on Milroe throughout the year, if we win while King is putting up big numbers we'll have a shot to flip him.

And there's always a possibility we can throw our hat in the ring for a number of kids we haven't offered yet, once visits are allowed again later this year we'll have more options than people realize.

Everyone thinks we need to push the button ASAP & get a QB right now, but best believe we'll be able to get who we want if we win 10+ & King is killing it this year. Lashlee has pedigree, we won't have to settle for a QB we're not crazy about like people might expect.

3 tings (yes tings not things):

• When are you going to be a staff guy for the site?

• When are you going to break through to the Staff and be a “Freelance Talent Evaluator”

•We appreciate the insight bruh.

Will say this, I like the quick release. His arm is moving when that ball comes out. If he has the smarts and accuracy, he has enough arm to do well in a Lashlee O.

The thing I like most about this kid.... 24TD's /1 INT. That tells me that this kid pretty **** good at decision making. Arm strength is not the end all and be all for great QB play. IMO, accuracy, ability to read defenses (intelligence), and knowing where to go with the ball immediately, is paramount to good QB play. TAKE!
