2021 evaluations and offers

Ive been reading and watching video on the offers and im wondering about the evaluations. Im by no means an expert but some of these offers are concerning. I dont give the star rating to much thought. Just going off the video some of these kids look avg at best. Some are probably being offered on potential. But i just dont see it.

well just know that somewhere in the range of 40-50 pct of these offers aren’t real

at least that’s my estimate.

i’ve seen some tapes i’ve really liked. Others i’dprob wait and see more

Many of these offers will be conditional on them visiting and possibly camping over the summer. It's a way to show that Miami is serious about evaluating them in person, at which point they'll drop the commitable offer if the kid passes a live inspection.

Thread jack. Is it just me or are we looking like we're casting a wider net earlier this year? I'm too lazy to go back through January last year but I can't remember a time with the first page littered with offers

It's early pre Spring evals...

Most of these guys we're offering are not even going to be on our radar by the summer time.

The offers that will matter the most will be once the Spring/Summer camp circuit heats up.

Right now it's still just January/February, it'll all shake out in a few months.

Exactly. Hundreds of offers go out there and most are feelers. If a kid blows up, great, you’ve already offered. If he stays average then they pull it or don’t allow a commitment.

Man then these kids go and blow up and y’all complain we didn’t offer sooner. Just because we offer doesn’t mean they can commit. Often times the offer is just to throw our hats in the ring so if their potential actually comes through and they blow up we can say “hey we’ve been there since the beginning” which has been a problem before.

Jan offers are meaningless. It's just a way for a school to keep tabs on a kid. We just offered a kid from Portland that has average Pac12 offers.

But its his 1st year playing football and he's 6'7 255 lbs. So you offer and see how he progresses.
