What year was that? I was at the ‘88 game, I think it was, to watch UM commits Leslie Shepherd and Diego London. Leslie had four beautiful catches in the first half and Rocket Ismail from Pennsylvania and later ND ran like crazy for Pennsylvania. They were ahead of Maryland at the end of the first half.

There was no second half. Lightning led to calling the game.

And Leslie never made it to Miami. There was some kind of problem with his academics. Ended up at Temple and played for a while in the NFL.

Diego was solid for us for a while. Played at LT for us and had some time in the Canadian league.

I watched you play. I used to have the game program. Wonder if I still have it.

so you remember playing only one half?

Did you play college ball? That Pennsylvania team was more talented than Maryland.

I remember the Maryland kids were upset and tried to convince the officials to play the second half.

Only time I had been to Hershey....the chocolate factories must have been close by. When we got out of the car you could actually smell the aroma of chocolate in the air.

Decades ago many UM players came from Pennsylvania. We were like Pitt South. Pitt used to have tough teams and they were like an annual rival.
