As reported those St Thomas Aquinas linemen were never seriously considering Miami, it sounds like it was just enjoying the attention and food.

Martinez is a well spoken young man, that will be a big miss by money as @DMoney has said many times over the last 7 months.

LSU wont give him a fair shot due to he is not from a feeder program for them, then he will hit the transfer portal. LSU is not going to play a south Florida O lineman over a Louisiana or Texas lineman.

I hate the canes season this year but if you are not a cane I dont care.

I could also see that happening, but I think Martinez will work his way into the 2 deep. talent and production trumps favoritism.

One of our local guys, I forget who... said Martinez isn't that impressive, at a UM camp/paradise, etc...He got beat repeatedly?

I mean I'd take him because we are getting our *** whipped in OL recruiting.

I am sure LSU is taking him because of Dumerville right? Not saying this kid isn't the goods but LSU has their pick of whoever the **** they want at OL in their part of the country..they went way down to STA to get this kid?

And I can't blame any kid for wanting to jump on that LSU train right now. Now how long that train will stay on the track is another story. (I had no idea Joe Burrow was 24 years old btw. LOL. He is 3 years older then Lamar Jackson!)

If he does not hit 2 Deep in year 1, It will be a up hill struggle. When you recruit a kid, you are recruiting him with the mindset that you are already recruiting his replacement if that makes sense. Meaning LSU is already recruiting a kin in 2021 and 2022 to take his spot. LSU will not care for his feelings due to he is not from a feeder school. I wish the young man the best, I would just hope these kids and parents really understand how this recruiting game works.

What food and attention?

So add to the problem instead of helping it?

Quick question. Are STA all local Dade/Broward kids who go to this catholic private HS or are these kids from all over Florida or are they more national? A mix?

I ask because I don’t mind if a kid from Georgia who goes to an IMG doesn’t seriously consider the U. It is annoying if a local kid going to a local private or public school doesn’t. Annoys me even if it shouldn’t.

Martinez is the rare elite 4 year kid at STA

the kid is average. not going to ever be an impact starter for them.

and not the kind of kid, if the 'canes had him, would be an impact player either. (the kind that helps you win conference championships).

that being said, f*ck him, his teammates, and anyone who is not a loyal cane. they can rot in a gutter for all i care.

I'm sure he's better than some of the preferred walk-ons and obviously the staff likes him more than some of this board.

What Berry is doing right now with OL recruiting, let alone how poor the OL was this season (obv he wasn't given much to work with) is grounds for insta-fire. Cast a f***in net would you please

I'm lost. You say he wasn't given much to work with, then you say the development of the oline is grounds for "insta-fire". That doesn't make since but if it does to you that's all that matters

No I didn't...Re-read

Let’s hope we kill the sta and heritage curse next year like the Deerfield one.
