Drew Pyne, New Canaan, Pro-Style Quarterback

6'1 165lbs QB from out of Connecticut, plays for New Canaan HS.

Had a phenomenal Freshman season throwing for 2,347yds 26TD's & 11INT's while leading his team to a 12-1 record winning a State Title.

Even though he's just a Freshman, he already holds offers from Bama, USC, Texas, LSU, Oklahoma, FSU, UF & Michigan.

I've been to New Canaan. It was a nice town when I was there. Is Max Johnson the same year as this kid? I saw that F$U is on him as his father played there but he's Richt's nephew. It's still early though and I think Johnson has an offer from us. Just wondering who will be the priority.

And I know, it's extremely early to even begin to discuss 2020 prospects, so I already know how y'all gon respond lol

But, the kid is a pretty gifted passer & completing 64% of his passes is impressive, especially for a TF playing Varisty.

Yeah, they're both Frosh... I actually think the 2020 QB that getting recruited by UF & FSU is Harrison Bailey.

I also like Derohn King Jr from Piper as a kid that will blow up with offers in a few years.

There's a lot of savages in the Cut (Connecticut).

NC has a good program. Well coached, run a spread concept. I'm slightly worried about his frame given that he's old for the grade and been held back. He should be a 2019 but he reclassified. NC's last QB is now at TCU after transferring from Penn in addition to a great OT Miami recruited from NC is also at TCU, there is a bit of a NC to TCU pipeline in general and especially for football. NC also sent players to BC.

I expect Pyne will go to IMG as a Senior. I'm not as high on taisun phommachanh from AOF for 2019. Would be amazing if the Canes got Pyne and he can add some size, makes amazing reads and understands the game well. He is somewhat limited by receivers who can't break 4.7.

This kid concerns me. A real prospect would have said he's 'blessed' to receive an offer, not 'honored.' He might be better suited to go to Stanford.

Stanford will be a real option for the kid. As will Duke and Vandy. But Miami has a unique environment that could work extremely well for a kid like this. South Beach, full ride, great Greek Life scene, ACC, nightlife, money to go out with, smokeshow babes, and still very strong academics. This kid could be an absolute legend at Sig Ep or Sigma Chi.

Nice to meet you Drew!! lol.

In all seriousness. This cat is the goods. Long way to go, but worth the offer. Great vision!

I didn't know he reclassified, that puts his Freshman season in better perspective.

Thanks for the insight.

His anticipation on a few of those throws and throwing to a spot instead of a player is a good sign at such a young age.

I grew up in a neighboring town and while this kid is impressive the level of competition is really poor. He mostly goes against small rich suburban kids that are slow and unathletic. Rather take a kid from South FL or at least a big time school who faces tough local competition.

'

Bull****, no way a true freshman could move to the next level and do that good as a true freshman. His stats are fake news.
