Kaminer to go JUCO with hopes of getting velocity up and return to Miami next year per tos.

Added a couple commits that weren't on PG's list. Bolded the names of recruits that signed with us in November.

Casas is up to 25th while Cecconi has dropped to 61st according to MLB.com. It also says that Gates, Davis, and del Castillo are 111, 129, and 179 in BA’s ranking from early March. With Casas and Cecconi gone baring a miracle, the quality of the class should hinge on how many we get of the next three.

Also looks like Jacob Steinberg is no longer part of the class

2018 MLB Draft: Top 350 Prospects | Perfect Game USA
Perfect Game Top 350 draft prospects (none of our current players made the cut):
31 Casas (29 in Nov, 28 in Mar)
72 Cecconi (48 in Nov, 67 in Mar)
101 Gates (76 in Nov, 94 in Mar)
150 Davis (NR in Nov, 138 in Mar)
263 Del Castillo (227 in Nov, 236 in Mar)

Keysor was 194th in the November ranking. Cabezas was 242 and Romy was 250. None of the three are in the current top 350.

Hope Cecconi keeps sliding and his asking price is high. Also, Cabezas dropping is good for us. Hope he stays another year.

BA 500
25 Casas
77 Cecconi
130 Gates
135 Davis
194 Del Castillo

Everyone other than Casas has dropped recently. Cecconi apparently did not pitch this spring (besides a few bullpens for scouts) and had been difficult for teams to reach last offseason. His BA scouting report indicated there was a decent chance that he shows up on campus. Also working in our favor: he would be a draft eligible sophomore so it wouldn't be as long a commitment.

Of the current players they have Veliz at 405, Gonzalez at 408, and Cabezas at 416. If memory serves me correctly, Danny Garcia was in a similar range to Veliz in the BA rankings as a draft eligible Sophomore and returned for his junior season.

Reyes and Bartow didn't make the list.

BA 500 5/21 update(everyone but Casas dropped 1-3 spots): Cecconi is now 78, Gates is 133, Davis is 136, Del Castillo is 196.

Veliz is down to 411, Gonzalez 414, and Cabezas 422.

MLB.com Top 200

64 Cecconi (down 3)
146 Davis
165 Gates
194 Del Castillo

Reposting.... Season ending mental data dump (I might just be mental): I’m assuming Romy, Reyes (least sure about him), Cabezas, and Bartow are gone for this

Feel really good about (not without things to improve)
Position Players
Zamora
Quinones
Escala
Cloonan

Pitchers
McKendry
Federman

Showed some flashes but ?s
Position Players
Gil (significant improvement the last month-could be convinced he deserves to be in the first group)
Jenkins (showed signs of life after Burns injury)
Rivera (good power, needs to improve contact and catch routine fly outs) Transfer seems unlikely but ?
Amditis (poor behind the plate, never regained rhythm offensively, injury prone) If we get Del Castillo, transfer seems to make sense for both parties

Pitchers
Cook (great when command is there, tailed off toward the end, like Gil might deserve to be in first group)
McMahon (flash of brilliance against FGCU, otherwise inconsistent in injury hampered season)
Veliz (needs to improve control, might lose to draft)
Maury (if healthy)

Didn’t show or play much
Toral (massive disappointment, saw the talent at brief times but.... Still expect him to start opening night 2019) Slight transfer risk
Paige (solid defender, gets on base, looked over matched when he needed to swing) Lots of middle infielders coming in, so transfer?
Allen (left off postseason roster) Almost certain transfer
Lane (left off postseason roster) Decent transfer chance
Sparber (only one at bat) Have a weird feeling they decided to redshirt him, otherwise I would say transfer

Pitchers
Rivero (definitely talented but erratic, injury ended season in late March)
Cloonan (didn’t pitch much, put in a decent outing against Maine)
Epstein (ineffective) graduated but has eligibility left, they were still messing with his delivery late in season. Could go either way re:returning
Ruiz (injured in fall, didn’t play)

Definitely going to need a pitching infusion. Hopefully, Cecconi, Gates, and Veliz go our way in the draft. Two JUCO pitchers coming in.

Any chance of consolidating your "Roster Going Forward" thread with this one after draft day and the MLB signing deadline?
Going ahead and doing it now given the state of the other thread
