I'd ask Bethel if that's his thinking too. If he says yes then I pull the offer immediately.

The kid has barely even played any CB in his life, and he gets what should be a dream offer from a NC marquee P5 program. Now, instead of being excited and grateful, his coach is talking like his mouth's a diseased pookyak. These local corches and advisers, for the most part, are maggots.

What are the other offers that Bethel has? He claims to have 10 other offers. Are they all marquee level P5 offers?

The worst part about it is it comes off like "tough man" talk but is evidence of the opposite. A good advisor would model real toughness by explaining to his player a rational decision gets him better outcomes. Check the emotional decisions at the door. If Miami is the player's best option, he should put Miami first. If Miami is "last" because of a "feeling," what's going to happen when the player catches other feelings (like struggle, disappointment, etc.)? This is crap entitlement syndrome being perpetuated by people being driven by their emotions.

That's exactly what I would do. I'd ask to visit Bethel and corch together. I'd ask him in front of the corch if that's his position. If he says yes, I rescind the offer and wish him the best. If he says no, then I ask him to leave the room and let that corch know he's persona non grata until he retracts his statement publicly and apologizes for lying.
 
That quote has to be Canesport doing its magic, because Coach Max doesn't hate Miami at all.

Nigel will be visiting campus quite a bit over the next few weeks/months, I think you guys could be overreacting.

You know those coaches wouldn't have jobs, let alone be allowed to live within county, probably even state lines if they did that, Swag.

If it's the actual quote as it was presented, it's weak stuff, to say the least. Regardless of pro-Miami or anti-Miami, these kids need stronger foundations. My non-profit works with young kids (10-15) from some pretty tough backgrounds and a lot of disadvantages. Makes me ******* crazy to hear or see adults enabling behavior almost certain to ***** the kids over the long-term.

I hope it's a twist by CS. And, if it is and I'm that coach, I'd have a serious f'in problem with framing me like a poor role model.

That's how a real man would handle it. Gotta restore that UM prestige, and you don't do it by allowing this sort of **** to go unchecked. You don't let some cumbum denigrate the brand by telling the world that UM is behind Temple, Akron, FAU, UCF and Bowling Green.
