Davenport, FL - Before heading down to Orlando to compete in the Nike Opening Regional,2018 WR Mark Pope stopped by Coral Gables Saturday for Miami’s junior day.
“The trip was amazing,” Pope said. “My family visited the campus and they just wanted to see what the campus was like.”
“I give it a 100%, the visit.”
Mark’s parents have visited the campus multiple times before, and enjoyed their trip this time around.
“My parents loved it,” Pope said. “They love the education and the fact that it’s a private education and that’s something they really love.”
Mark has built relationships with numerous position coaches around the country, but there’s one coach who he gets along with the most.
“Coach Dugans is like a dad to me,” Pope said. “I trust him, he’s always on top of me about everything and i respect that because he’s someone that actually cares.”
While having nearly every offer in the nation, Mark says there’s another school after him really hard — Alabama
“Alabama is the same way they treat there receivers like Jeudy, Cooper and Ridley and that’s something I like.”
Alabama has gone through a couple of coaching changes with coaches like Mario Cristobal, Bill Napier and Steve Sarkisian, but is that effecting his recruitment?
“Alabama is still one of the schools on top,” Pope said “Growing up I’ve been liking Alabama since I’ve been watching football, the coaching changes don’t really effect me.”
Mark has offers from everywhere in the nation, but what schools are recruiting him the hardest and does he have a leader??
“Miami, Georgia, Alabama are recruiting me pretty hard.”
“Miami is leading right now, it’s not by a lot a lot but they’re in the lead for sure.”
