Your talking one South Fla recruit that isn't on campus. I believe the post is referencing post-Wilfork, and he isn't far off base at all. Prime ready to go DTs are like dominant centers in basketball...prized as ****. Coach Kool can do more with less, but it wouldn't hurt for him to do more with more...he hasn't exactly screwed up Chad Thomas....love to see him snag a few 5 star ready to go road graters, but the price tag$ are probably too high.

There is only one 5 star dt in the country(Vincent). Its all about how you develop players. Kendrick norton and rj mcintosh weren't rated 4 stars yet they will be top 4 round NFL draft picks. Kool has shown in the past that he can recruit 5 star dlineman(Sheldon Richardson, terry Beckner are proof of that. Kool will get his guys and most importantly COACH them up regardless what they were ranked out of highschool

We had golden and donofrio from 2010-2015 that's why. No one wanted to play dt in that scheme period

It was a problem under Golden because of scheme and what that scheme called for. A 3-4 requires behemoth NTs that there just aren't that many of out there. Look what happened the second we switched DCs and went 4-3, all of a sudden our DTs were good. That was always the main problem with Golden's BS system, it was predicated on having a dominant NT which we never really got.

Of all the positions to worry about recruiting, DT is the last. Kool will get his guys. Silvera, Briggs, one more. That's a good haul.

if we didn't only take one who hasn't enrolled yet we might not be so concerned. 1 DT in a class is dumb

Your point is valid though. Hardly anyone at all wanted to play for those guys except some hard core Canes. It does seem like we have trouble recruiting true DT's. Silvera is a beast no doubt but I hope we can snag another one or two.
