Miami Offers 2018 OL Thompson

Miami has offered one of Missouri's top juniors.
Saint Louis (Mo.) Parkway North 2018 Top100 tackle Michael Thompson tweeted on Tuesday that he had picked up a bid from the Hurricanes.

The Missouri native has two Crystal Ball predictions in his favor of the local Tigers. He is currently ranked as the No. 43 overall prospect in the Top247 for the class of 2018.

Michael Thompson, Parkway North, Defensive Tackle

St. Louis has 2 of the top DTs in the country next year...

I'm sure Kuligowski is aware of them...

#7 DT in nation but we are recruiting to play OT??????

Kind of like how schools were recruiting Kendrick Norton as well. But I think there might be more beastly DT prospects out, or DE prospects ala Pat Bethel, that my have the frame to develop into a DT.

That's the great part about having coaches with a broader network. We don't necessarily have to be in St. Louis pounding the pavement but you sure as **** know that all the high school coaches have coach Kool's number and will give him a ring if they have a prospect.

I expect the way Kool plays our dline this year will greatly increase interest from quality DTs and DEs in coming years. Nobody wanted to play for Golden.

For the life of me, can people please stop talking about DEs growing into DTs. Who is the last DE recruit that became a DT? But I bet for every other DE recruit, you talk about them becoming DTs.

I was using an example of a kid projected as a DT that played DE in High School. Comprehension, work on you should.

You are mistaken U of Michigan is the UM recruiting him as a OL, Miami wants him as a NT.

Trieu: Key Michigan recruiting targets for 2018

... Blue Chip surprises?
When Michigan signed five-star running back Kareem Walker in 2016, that would have been considered unexpected a year in advance. The same goes for the 2017 class and five-star defensive tackle Aubrey Solomon.

The five-star group on Scout will grow over the next year. Right now, there are only 11 five-star prospects in the 2018 class nationally. That number is likely to be more than 30 a year from now.

Of the nation’s top 30 prospects, the one Michigan may have the best chance with right now is St. Louis Parkway North defensive tackle Michael Thompson. The Wolverines are recruiting Thompson (6-4, 290 pounds) as an offensive lineman primarily, but he has nearly 20 offers, with many of those schools viewing him as a defensive lineman. Michigan offered last May. They were his seventh offer at the time and he took an unofficial visit to Ann Arbor for a game in September......

so this is the son of the former la laker? sweet! always wondered if michael thompson's kid would amount to anything (kidding- i know who his son is)

Plans to OV to Miami before he makes his decision according to InsideTheU. No date set yet.

A little snippet from the article.

Some in the industry have stated that Missouri, Michigan and Ohio State are the leaders in the clubhouse, but the U.S. Army All-American claims that the Hurricanes have just as good of a chance as anybody to land his services.

Second most important position in football. Every great team has had at least one freak at DT.

WANT

Michael Thompson is a very good player but Miami needs more of 1 Tech type for the 2018 class and Trevor Trout fits this position need more so than Thompson does.

Trout seems to be fishing for recruiting attention though, so we will see how things playout through the season. Coach Kool has been on both of these kids for years so both of these young men's recruit should get real interesting before it is over..

Go Canes
