Miami Offers 2018 DE Lamar

Seffner Armwood three-star defensive end Malcolm Lamar has picked up a scholarship offer from Miami.

The 2018 prospect was offered by the Hurricanes on Monday after the his initial three-game cut of his junior season made the rounds.

The nation's No. 14 strong side defense end per the 247Sports Composite also claims offers from Ole Miss, Louisville, N.C. State, Mississippi State, Tennessee and South Carolina. He was at Florida this past weekend for an unofficial visit.

Lamar (6-5, 250) totaled nine sacks as a sophomore. He could grow into a defensive tackle at the next level.

Would have some real nice change of direction and quickness at DT, nice frame and long arms, all the things coach kool has mentioned he looks for...

Looks like 285\295 lb DT with serious upfield potential...

Richt's personality and style should appeal to more central and north Florida kids and families. He may be able to make some inroads to those areas where we haven't gotten many recruits before.

Hmmmm a DE prospect that could grow into a DT. Some ppl say that never happens.

Given that the kid is 250 lbs just starting his JR year of H.S., it's likely he'll be 280-300 by the time he puts on a college uniform. Most DEs aren't going to "grow" into DTs. But in this case it seems fairly likely.

If he wants to make the big league, common sense says Kool will get him there. DL guys should be begging to play here under coach Kool

Ha!! I know Malcolm. He and Warren both played travel ball on one of our younger teams.

Malcolm has long arms and is probably 6'3 230. I haven't seen him since basketball ended last year at Armwood.

Some people say it for EVERY DE recruit. You're probably one of them
