Who cares it's 2018.

no kid in the '18 class is actually committed they have basically just named us their leader.

That's how he is thinking IMO. Time to play hardball with these kids.

This has more to do with the fact that you cannot contact 2018 recruits right now at this moment.

Richt doesn't dive deep into future classes much at all. He likes to focus on what is current and sprinkle a little in the following class.

Regardless. Billy is a huge canes fan, he's not decommitting because of Richt or anything like that. I'm very confident that he will be back in the 2018 class when all is said and done. This is also not a drop before someone says something stupid, he's bare minimum 4* prospect.

When communications can pick back up with 2018 they will talk to him.

Unlike the Golden era. Richt has shown he can reel decommits back in. Very good chance Blades and Joseph will be back when the proper time comes.

I wouldn't even take commitments from guys two years out. It's stupid these days. Make offers but don't take commitments.

Yeah because that would go over well with the recruit. It's just how recruiting is these days if a kid you offered wants to "commit" it's hard to deny them.

Time for coaches and players to put their money where they mouth is. If you're going to issue a scholarship, issue it in writing. If a prospect is going to commit, sign your offer and fax it in. Make it binding and I guarantee you this **** will stop on both sides.

I haven't looked at Joseph's film or anything yet, but if we land the 3 guys we have committed for 2017 and add Wilder, I'm fine skipping LB in the 2018 class unless there's a 5 star guy at a local school or somewhere nationally that just wants to come. We're gonna be loaded to the gills.

Swagger.

Me and Blustein have discussed on it. Joseph is a future DE. His body won't keep down weight for LB. He's also been purely a pass rusher.

LBs in 2018 we should go after is the Booker T trio. Beaver, Hicks and Pelote. And then the kid from JAX area, Eriq Gilyard at Trinity Christian. I also like Donovan Georges out of Champagnat but my main concern has been his competition level.

As for 2017, yes. Don't need to change there. Add Wilder. Then take F'agan and see if he's a SS or OLB depending on how he holds up weight. F'agan is not 6'2" 200, I've seen him in person, more like 180-185. Height and weights sometimes get fluffed up on kids Hudls.

On CS he pretty much said he decommitted to get more love and attention from the current staff. Talking about how Miami hasn't contacted him much but other schools have. Jesus, these kids need to be punched in the mouth. He's what? Like 15? I wouldn't be cut out to recruit these kids. I hope Richt and company can break through.
