First & foremost, this kid is a gifted athlete, with great speed & natural instinct at getting to the ball, simply put he's an Elite LB.
You can read his eval on Scout: J.j. Peterson, Colquitt County HS OLB - Player Evaluation - Scout

Secondly, the tape matches up & speaks for itself:

Watch how quickly he closes in on the QB:

Now let me say this, we haven't offered him yet & on 247 they predict him 100% to Florida.
With that being said, I think we should throw our hat in the race with this kid, not saying we'll get him, but I just think he's good enough to at least consider an offer.

First, he plays for Colquitt County the two time reigning state Champions in Georgia, lead by Coach Rush Propst (yeah the superstar himself). Coach Rush has built Colquitt into a powerhouse elite school much like what he did at Hoover & has produced some really talented players.

JJ Peterson, Colquitt County, Outside Linebacker

You'll get a chance to see him on TV.

AH-Plantation FL vs Colquitt Co. GA - August 27th 8pm ESPNU

I'm sure we will. Richt doesn't offer people unless they camp right? Or am I crazy. Idk it's too early to remember

He also isn't scared of competition, say what you want about Coach Rush but he's not afraid to play a tough schedule as he has said many times in the past, it gets his team prepared to make a run in the playoffs & win the state. They play American Heritage 2nd game of the season this year & he's also routinely scheduled tough games against Bama & Texas schools.

The point being, forging new ground in SEC country down in that area of South Georgia can be beneficial to our program. I understand the idea of wanting to lockdown Sourh FLA, but in all honesty that's going to take some time to accomplish & certainly isn't going to happen overnight. That's not say it will happen in South Georgia either, my point is I think Coach Richt's time at UGA can earn him some respect & should have cache built up enough to where he can potentially make a play for some of those kids down there.

He has offers from UF, UGA, Clemson & Arkansas, he hasn't quite "blown up" yet with only 8 offers thus far, but the talent is clearly there & it's still early enough in the game to where we could maybe make an impact.

we need to lock down our back yard. Uf needs to offer this kid because of the growing threat from the south.

This kid is in the portal. Seems like our kind of player. Do we have space for him? I actually know his high school sweetheart lol. She babysat for me for a few months (she has family in Miami and is constantly travelling between Miami and Moultrie, GA). I could put in a good word lol. In all seriousness I think he would do well here. GO CANES!!!

This isn’t the type of transfer you want.

He’s more than likely their version of Jennings or McCloud. The only difference being that he wasn’t seeing the field over the younger guys.

I have to disagree. This kid was a top 50 recruit. He shouldn't be disrespected by being compared to Jennings or McCloud. It was a **** show in Knoxville. The kid shouldn't be blamed for the incompetence of the coaching staph.

T-Will actually recruited while at Auburn as well.

Knoxville is a **** show, but really good players have still found a way to be successful there. Heck, they had a stud LB in the portal and another we’ve already gotten who was better than this kid.

McCloud was top 150 though

Sounds like a kid who peaked in HS that doesn’t have it mentally. Seriously, you can’t get grades at UT!?

Lingard<<Gus Edwards
Roll that thought in a blunt and smoke it
👎🏿 You're attempting to compare apples to oranges. Lingard suffered a major knee injury that he obviously never recovered from. No one will ever know if Lingard would have reach his full potential at RB.

Guss Edwards had to suffer through an incompetent coaching staph that didn't take advantage of his skill set and never got the snaps he deserved at Miami. He got them after he left Miami that's for sure and the rest is history. Kid is still balling in the NFL.

So what. That's not top 50 like this kid. I'm specifically referencing athletic ability and skill set. I'm not talking about academically. If this kid didn't get it done in the class room that's on him.
