Rousseau getting another big write-up in the Herald:

Champagnant wins defensive battle against Doral | Miami Herald

After its offense staked it to a 13-point halftime lead, the Champagnat Catholic defense, led by University of Miami-bound defensive end Greg Rousseau, went out and did the rest.

The Lions held the usually high-potent Doral Academy offense to just seven points and then, with Doral on the 15 and a minute to go, came up with a huge intercepiton by Keyshon Gardner to preserve a 13-9 victory at Doral.

The crazy part is that Rousseau, a towering figure at 6-6 and 220 pounds, did not line up at his normal position all night. He instead showed the world and Canes coaches that he can play the safety position effectively as well. "I just go where they want me to be and go make plays,” said Rousseau, who was in on at least a dozen tackles including a cracking hit in the flat on Doral’s Breion Fuller, another future Cane. “Tonight we needed to make some key plays at big moments including Keyshon’s big pick at the end.”

Said coach Dennis Marroquin: “He played safety for us last year and with Doral’s potent passing attack, we needed him back there tonight. He’s going to be awfully special when he puts a Canes uniform on.”

The only touchdown the Lions defense did give up was set up when Doral blocked a punt giving the Firebirds a short field at the 20. Miles Hayes then found freshman Kahil Brantley, someone UM already has eyes for according to coach Jase Stewart, for a 12 yard scoring pass with 10:40 left in the game.
