IIRC, He didn't look good in camp. But he just makes plays. Often times in football, play makers trump freak athletes, and often even work themselves into becoming freak athletes.

Having not followed his recruitment and probably a dumb Q, but would we be at the table if offered?

some kids are just gamers. Like i said every time ive watched Chatfield he has stood out...and those were in game situations since he was a 10th grader. I honestly would offer him...i know we have size requirements, scheme fits, he just is a kid that i feel would make our defense better or make plays somehow and every team needs guys like that. Gotdamnit Tool Box is a kid i grew to love..started as a golden joke..but that kid does work for us when on the field. Chatfield is similar and with the other freaks we have recruited on the dl he could blossom..**** he is showing he might could play some on the back end at lb..which is what tool box even did for us for a few games

Excerpts from the Miami Herald on Frierson, Rousseau and 2020 recruit Marc Brit. Rousseau had a very good night. Anyone on here know how good Brit is and if we can/want to try to steal Machado back from Bama?

---------

American Heritage defeats Booker T. Washington in preseason football | Miami Herald

▪ Coral Gables 24, Mater Academy 0: Gilbert Frierson caught two touchdown passes to lead the host Cavaliers, who enter the season with high hopes following an appearance in the Class 8A regional finals. Williams passed for 132 yards on 6-of-8 passing and threw one of the touchdowns to Frierson, and Harrison Easton threw the other. Frierson caught three passes for 81 yards.

..................

▪ Champagnat Catholic 35, Hialeah 12: A few weeks after the University of Miami, following their Canes Paradise Camp, made an official offer to Champagnat wide receiver/safety Marc Britt, the Lions sophomore made the Canes look awfully smart on Friday night.

That’s because not only was Britt in on some big defensive plays, but caught five passed for 85 yards and reeled in two touchdown passes, both in the fourth quarter as the Lions pulled away to beat the crosstown rival T-Breds in a Preseason Kickoff Classic at Milander Stadium.

“The Canes showed their confidence in me and I want to go out this season and let them know they’ve got the right guy,” said Britt who doesn’t plan on making any decisions on where to go for awhile in anticipation of other offers. “Tonight was a big win because we wanted to get the season off on the right foot.”

Leading just 7-6 early in the fourth quarter, Britt reeled in a 5 yard touchdown pass from Kervin Dessources.

..........

led by bookend defensive ends UM commit Greg Rousseau and Alabama-bound Jesus Machado, the Champagnat defense dominated for most of the night. ... Machado sacked Wade three times while Rousseau had six solo tackles, two blocked passes, three quartberback pressures, a sack which resulted in a forced fumble.

Central is absolutely loaded with RB's.

They ran it down Chaminade's throat.

2019 Lexington Joseph rushed for 139yds & 1TD, 2020 Kijon Owens rushed for 110yds 1TD, 2021 Freshman phenom Amari Daniels had 2TD's including a 35yd run for a TD where he broke like 5 tackles (I posted it on the Class of 2021 thread). 2018 James Cook also scored.

Idk if QB Maurice Underwood was hurt, but Tiujane Morten stepped up & had a good game, threw some deep passes to Perriman.

Good job Rockets!

Looking forward to seeing how District 16-6A plays out this year.

in the FHSAA statewide preseason rankings for Class 6A, #1 is Carol City, #2 is Northwestern, #3 is Central and #8 is Norland.

Got to be THE toughest district in America and all four schools are more or less located along a 10-mile stretch on I-95.

It's absolutely sick how these South FLA schools reload. Every year dozens of new recruits emerge that I've never even heard of, often times at schools that just had a plethora of D1 kids the season before. So much talent down there.

#7 for Central, is that Perriman? Kid was dominate at WR. What year is he?

I plan on heading up to Fort Lauderdale for the St. Thomas Aquinas/St. John Bosco game. I know it's on ESPN so updates are easier but if I don't see any, I'll drop some score updates on here. Should be a great game.
