2017 Local "Sleeper" DT prospects

How big is this mandy kid..? This **** plays with determination i tell you.. Good lawd. He was possessed in these clips. Explosive of the line period!

Mandy Alonso: I like his twitch off the line, doesn't look like the fastest player but he looks like he has a strong motor and is going full speed ahead with some nice pursuit angles. He looks to wrap both arms around the player...the main thing i dislike though is that once he has someone wrapped up...on nearly every play it seemed like he tried to muscle them to the ground by spinning them around and attempting to toss them almost, instead of just driving them backwards into the dirt. He could probably knock some helmets off if he did a better job of squaring up and finishing his tackles using his body weight and legs instead of his arms. But lets be real here...everyone can't be Denzel Perryman

OP Thanks for sharing, but there are threads already about Ellis and Colson. A suggestion is do a quick name search in the forum in order not to see if your creating duplicate post.

The other prospects are good finds and I would agree with AstCloud11 on his evaluation of Alonso.

Welcome to the board and keep sharing.

Go Canes

DT is definitely a position worth discussing, especially since it's the most difficult to recruit in South Florida. I guess another sleeper chart would be to look at Florida Mids offer/commit lists. In order to compete smaller schools haveta look the hardest to get those hidden gems.

you're right he isn't the best Athlete but he uses his hands well. He's got a decent bull rush and rip move but he comes up on some run plays. Instead of engaging and separating he engages and then try's to out muscle them. He tackles high that's why he's spinning them around instead of wrapping at the hips. He's a 1 tech or 2 tech depending on Manny Diaz's use of DT's, he's not athletic enough to be a P5 3 tech imo

6'2 275lbs

Sign him up
Hope some of these guys are interesting enough to get Kools attention...

They should be unless we are Star Chasing. IMO, the best in S. Fla is the best in the nation once properly developed. The Key is identifying and signing the best in S. Fla. We should never leave our prime recruiting area unless S.Fla does not have what we need or the recruit is a beast.

Is that accurate ? Or is that the "listed" height and weight.

Listed ht.& wt., I'm guessing. He's prolly closer to bout 6'1" 265

Would like to see what he actually is. If he's closer to 6'0 with short arms he may be physically limited.
