"Buzz-on-the-street” -Miami has signed a 2016 WDE/OLB to a scholly. TCR trying to confirm. If true, the would be the 21st in “SWAG16” class.

Academic scholarships don't convert to football, only lower revenue sport scholarships automatically convert to football once an athlete plays a down. Hence why a walkon even though they may get playing time has to be awarded a football scholarship.

What's not to love about Walker coming on board? Kid's got size, motor, and a violent attitude on the field, and he's obviously intelligent. Most important, Walker has to have an phenomenal work ethic in order to be able to be an excellent athlete & academician. Icing on the cake, from the looks of kid, he aint the most sunshiney guy out here. Basically we're getting a guy with actual FBS talent in a spot thats usually filled by a Walk-on stiff from the Northeast (no offense to walk-on stiffs from the Northeast). His floor here looks to be a depth/ST guy, he'll definitely get his uniform dirty. I don't know his ceiling but I wouldn't bet against this young man.
