Murphy said his current options include Oregon, UCLA, Gonzaga and Miami. He said he still has three official visits left and plans on using those with his family to check out where he wants to go

Murphy is ranked as the No. 7 player in Texas’ Class of 2015 by TexasHoops.Com. He averaged 23.6 points, 10.5 rebounds and 3.1 assists last season for the Bears, which went undefeated in District 27-6A and reached the third round of the playoffs. Murphy was also a finalist for this year’s McDonald’s All-American Game, which features the best high school players in the count

VCU just hired UT-Chattanooga's head coach Will Wade as their new head coach. While I think Wade is a good coach, I'm not surprised recruits are defecting since Wade is somewhat of an unknown commodity.

As for Murphy, he's only a 3-star per Scout, 247, and Yahoo, and is the #113 player nationally by Yahoo, but has offers from Baylor, Maryland, Texas, Memphis, Marquette, Minnesota, SMU, Oklahoma, TCU, Vanderbilt, UNLV, Creighton, Kansas State, and Texas A&M. That's a pretty good list.
