Death, taxes, and Al Golden's staff recruiting in New Jersey. That's what seems to be the norm in our society nowadays. Golden continues to recruit hard in "The Garden State" as the class of 2014 recruiting season rolls on.
However with only a few short months left, the 'Canes staff is focusing on one player in particular from New Jersey.
That player is six-foot-four, 217-pound wide receiver David Njoku (Nuh~Joh~Koo) of Cedar Grove, New Jersey.
David is one of the many prospects who is taking an official visit to Miami this weekend.
"I am just looking for somewhere I can live for the next four to five years." said Njoku. "I want to see if it would be a good fit for me. I definitely want to check out the academic program."
Njoku, who de-committed from Rutgers in mid-October, has a slew of Miami coaches currently recruiting him.
"There are a lot of them." Njoku said. "Coach Barrow, Coach D'Onofrio, and Coach Carroll are all recruiting me heavy.
Although David had yet to talk to any current Miami commits or targets throughout the recruiting process, he looks forward to meeting a few of them this weekend. Especially, fellow New Jersey stars, Kiy Hester and Courtel Jenkins.
The 'Canes may get lucky and have this be Njoku's final official visit before National Signing Day.
"I have nothing planned as of yet. I may visit Ohio State during mid-January but nothing planned yet and we'll just go from after this weekend." Njoku said.
Njoku also tells me his announcement probably won't be coming before National Signing Day.
However, the 'Canes appear to be in the driver seat for this top-notch athlete.
**In my opinion, the 'Canes are coming hard after Njoku in belief that they might not land Dwyer wide receiver Johnnie Dixon. Or even longshots, Ermon Lane and Travis Rudolph. They feel good about their chances with Njoku.
