Here's his film: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Adlfjfj-Hng

I spoke to his coach this evening. Here's what Coach Tunsil said:

"The UM coaches broke up the kids into offense/defense. Michael went with Coach Williams, went upstairs with him to get to know him better. They took him on a tour, showed him campus, and before you knew it, it 3:30."

Feeling from Johnson? (Coach was there)... "He loved it. He loved everything about UM. They told us they're gonna bring two safeties next year, he definitely liked that. Coaches told us he's high on their board.

"Coach Williams and Carroll said they want spring film, want to evaluate more, like guys who come to camps."

Coach Tunsil said Johnson will attend the Al Golden Camp in June.

"He was there first Junior Day, should let you know he's high on the board for UM. It was a 'High Priority' day yesterday, so that says a lot."

I asked his opinion on the current UM staff. "I like what they're doing; people have to realize that UM is recruiting under the cloud of sanctions. Considering, I feel like they've been recruiting well. I like Coach Golden, he's a very honest man. I think once everything gets over, Miami will become Miami again under this leadership."

Hmmm...interesting.

Sorry to threadjack but 1 of those 2 safeties better be Quincy Wilson.

Thanks for the info.

I think Golden wants these kids to battle it out at his camps and earn the offer. LOVE IT!

Do we really need Safety depth? at this point I think we need to worry about corners and lineman depth.

Who else is there besides Deon and Jenkins at that point? Maybe Burns if he moves to safety, but you gotta have guys that can step in, and this could be that guy. Look at Bama, they recruit everyone they can get their hands on and if they have to wait a year or two, they get the dudes in there and develop them. Milliner didn't start as a freshman, Barron didn't start as a freshman, Tommy Streeter didn't play till his r Jr. year and had an awesome season and went pro. Bottom line: get all the dudes you can, because you don't hit on everyone so the more numbers the more chances you get, plain and simple.

This is a stupid question regardless of the position. You need depth at every position no matter what. You're only a play or two away from having a scrub like Kacey Rodgers being relied upon for heavy minutes.

You can never have too much talent. Oh, we have James Jackson, Clinton Portis, Jarrett Payton and Willis McGahee, why bother recruiting another stud RB like Frank Gore?

You cover all your bases by stockpiling talent.
