2014 Coral Reef (Fla.) WR Jacob McCrary committed to FSU last month
after he received his offer, however he will continue to go through
the recruiting process.

“I’m going to continue with the recruiting process and keep my eyes
open to other schools because you never know what could happen.”

McCrary admits that Miami is an option, but aren’t a serious contender
at moment considering that he does not hold an offer.

“Miami can be option for me, but as of right now I don’t hold an offer
from Miami, so they are kinda not in the picture right now.”

The speedy receiver spoke about why he likes the canes saying “They
can be dominant and Coach Golden is doing a great job of recruiting. I
also like the tradition”

The 2014 prospect happens to have a former teammate currently on the
Miami roster in cornerback Vernon Davis. McCrary spoke about Davis
saying, “He is a great physical corner and he is very aggressive”

McCrary does respect Davis highly saying that he is the best player he
has played with or against in high school.

The thought of playing with his former teammate has crossed McCrary’s mind.

“It would be good to play with an old teammate and continue to play
together, but things may not go as planned.”

McCrary had 22 catches with 451 yards and 8 touchdowns last season as
a sophomore.

Peter, Tito,

What's up with FSU and all these early offers to Miami area WRs? I just looked and they have 4 "committed" already; Warton, McCrary, Robinson (although I think Peter likes him on D), and Jackson.

Are these top level 2014 guys?

I don't think Worton is top-level, but those other guys are. I think we will be very careful with WR offers for these next two years because we brought in 5 last year.

Can you rank these guys as prospects:

Brady, Warton, McCrary, Robinson, Jackson, Rudolph (our verbal).

I thought the staff wanted him on defense CB

I've heard he's being brought in at CB.

As far as ranking those WR, I would go Brady, McCrary, Jackson, Robinson, Worton

Shocked. A kid with 2 more years of HS football is keeping his options open. I think it's ridiculous that these kids even commit that early. I mean i know why they do it (publicity, gets their name out there for other schools to chase, higher rankings, ego, etc) but ultimately i think it's ridiculous. I would love nothing more than the NCAA to put a rule in place saying you can't offer a kid (written or verbally) until the start of his junior year.
