2014 DL Sibole One to Watch

Defensive Line is a huge need for the University of Miami program over the next couple of years. South Florida has its fair share of talented linemen and that is the case with 2014 DL Justin Sibole (6'4", 270) of American Heritage Plantation. His AHP squad is preparing for the start of the playoffs next week.

"We're 8-1 right now and we're conference champs so we did what we wanted this year. Of course we wanted that undefeated season, but now we're looking forward to the postseason."

How would Sibole describe his game for those who haven't seen him play?

"I believe I'm strong, athletic, and quick off the ball. I can shed offensive linemen to make a play."

Versatility is one of Sibole's calling cards. He feels comfortable enough to play tackle or end.

"If it's a team that passes the ball more, I like to play end to get in there on the QB, but if it's a running team then I like to get in there on the run too. I'll play whatever the college wants me to play. I'm open to both."

While Sibole does not hold any offers at the moment, there are some top programs that are staying in touch with him.

"I don't have an official offer right now, but Duke will offer once I send my SAT score to them. I've been in contact with Missouri, Alabama, Clemson, Michigan State, University of Miami, and Rutgers."

The 'Canes have been in contact with the 270-lb lineman and he's been to some of their games this season.

"I've gone to three of their games this year, they gave me tickets. I get mail every single day from them and I talk to them somewhat often. I'm talking to Coach Richardson and Coach D'Onofrio."

What is attractive to Sibole about the UM program?

"I like that it's close to home, I love the background of what they're capable of. My family and everybody that I'm around really loves Coach Golden."

He has been impressed with the season the 'Canes have had, but isn't necessarily surprised.

"I think it's amazing. I know most people didn't have them doing anything this year, but I personally knew from playing against Duke Johnson and some of those guys that they have a lot of power and could do great things. After I saw that first game, I knew anything was possible."

As a student of the game, Sibole has been paying close attention to the way Miami's defensive line has played this season.

"When I watch football, I watch it as a player, not as a fan. I love watching D-Lines play. I'm a big fan of Anthony Chickillo. I feel like Miami has really good defensive line, but I don't know why they're struggling."

Watch out for this kid. While he's not a big name kid right now, I've talked to a couple people who have seen him play multiple times and they say this kid has taken tremendous strides front last year to this year and is showing improvement each week. He is a project right now, but he still has a year and a half left before he graduates. You can't teach that size.... I wouldn't be surprised to see him blow up in the offseason with camps and all that. Tough to teach his physical attributes

JJ watt? Lol. Hybrid dt/de. It just makes more and more sense for Miami to go to a 3-4 with the type of kids that are found in south Florida IMO

Some things to know about Justin, kid is a man child you would think he's been workin out since he was 6, but that's the way with most d1 level dlinemen. He played TE in middle school and the coaches at Archbishop switched him to Dline his freshman year and he started across Michael deeb. Hockey was first sport and was an absolute monster at it and prep schools wanted him to play for them. He does have small arms and note REALLY small hands but he works really hard in the weightroom, on the field, and in the classroom. Whenever he is struggling he would automatically get a tutor and try to fix the problem, same with football. He has has a little bit of injury issues through his high school career but other than that he's a great player with good upside. He is addicted to winning, he told his teammates if they lost a game they got to shave his head and make whatever haircut they want with it. All he is focused on is states.
