I read somewhere that Al, being as metiticules as he is, has configured our roster for 3 or 4 more years out.
Looking at our roster as I percieve it will be after NSD, *
I have concluded 2014 will have about 15 slots available. I believe the early distribution to be roughly as follows, with local targets indicated. There is no doubt that Staff as OOS guys in mind, as well.
2014 Class Projected
(1) QB - Flowers or Mahalak
(1 or 2) RBs - Sonny Michel, D. Cook
(2) DEs - Chad Thomas & Mike Smith
(2) DTs - K. Clark, A. Moten
(2 or 3) OL- Trevor Darling; McDermott,
(2 or 3) LBs - V.Jackson
(1) CB -Treon Thomas
(1) S - ____
(WR) Ermon Lane

I'd like knowlegable input from those who know.

* I have assumed that we get the majority (or all) of the currently identified targets, most of whom will visit on the 18th.

Keyon Brown at DE instead of Mike Smith and hopefully we take more than one WR with the crop coming out in 2014

One 2014 kid that constantly gets left off is Austin Roberts. That kid is a beast in the making but moving OOS took him off most fans radar I guess. He's a legacy and supremely talented and likely to be in this class.

Maybe a future TE in stead of a WR but I haven't seen any recent highlights since he moved.

We don't even know the exact numbers for 2013, pointless to look at 2014.

Bt, u are a good poster, but, really? We are talking numbers again, for 2014?
I bet it's more than 15. Again, stop worrying about the numbers. They always work out.

Really? This many posts and no one has pointed out the obvious that there is a good chance we have scholarship reductions in place by next year.

Nobody, other than Staff, know the numbers, and even they don't know them. Too many variables. We (and they) don't even know what slots will be filled this cycle, nor what type of sanctions we will face in 2014. But it is possible to review the roster and see where areas of need will be, along with available local talent who might fill those spots.

If you review my post, I used the phrase aproximate. Nothing is etched in stone and I just did this to occupy our time between now and the 18th. I hate the off-season!!!

Looks great now, a lot will change once camps and **** start up. kids will start blowing up

Way too early to talk about specific numbers but heading into 2014 we will have:

only 5/6 CB (Gunter Sr, Howard Jr, Crawford Jr, Dortch So, Hope So, Burns So) 3/4 S (Bush Jr, Jenkins Jr, Carter So) depending on where Burns ends up.

Would think the secondary would again be a priority. Otherwise I think we will be back to being pretty balanced.
