Is it just me or is our depth looking mighty thin next year?

I am a believer you should have 3 quality backs to rotate though out the game. Unless Danny Dillard and Alex Collins are both beasts I think we are gonna be in trouble next year. Duke is not an every down back.

Opinions?

Miami needs Alex Collins in this class BADLY. Not just because of his talent (which is insanely high), but because he will get AMPLE amounts of carries next year if Fisch learns how to run a successful offense.

I can not imagine Dillard contributing much while at Miami. But, we'll see. Also, word is Dallas Crawford ain't too happy with his lack of playing time, so it is possible we enter next season with Duke Johnson, Maurice Hagens, Danny Dillard, and freshmen in the backfield.

well if he can't get playing time next year then he not cut out for UM

In my ideal offense, Duke would pick up 14-16 carries a game next year, Alex Collins would pick up 10-12, and Clements would pick up 2-4. Duke's could go down depending on how he is used and Clements might see more touches on 3rd downs.

I do not expect to see my ideal offense.

I don't think Alex Collins is getting quite the amount of appreciation that he deserves. In my opinion, this kid's ceiling is " very special." With all due respect to Duke, who deserves all the praise in the world, Collins will be our best back since McGahee. He is a between the tackles kind of guy that's going to be 220 next year, no problem.

I didn't think it was possible to have a more impressive film than Duke's....until I saw Collins' film. He's not as flashy as Duke in that he doesn't make 3 guys look like nutless 'tards on a 90 yard TD run, but his vision, feet, size, burst and shiftiness are extremely rare at this level. I hate crowning guys before they step on campus, but I can't imagine Collins not being an instant hit as a freshman if he does actually sign with us. He has all the makings of an every-down back and then some. I really don't think we're going to struggle at RB next year between him and Duke. Also, don't forget about OT - that dude hits the hole so hard I cringe every time he crosses the line of scrimmage.

Also, with respect to the above post, I did not want to imply that Collins does not make defenders looks like nutless 'tards, as he does so with regularity. Anyone who's seen his junior film knows about the juke he put on Keith Brown that makes KB look like a 75 year old woman fresh off hip surgery.
