so, how do we see the linebacker rotation shaking out next year? if we can land matthew thomas, i think we could be looking at a position group that has gone from one of the weakest links on the team to one of the strongest. but either way, there's a lot of moving parts. denzel will be on the field somewhere... and presumably eddie, too. does kirby make the leap up into a starting role? is devonte bond just a guy coming off the edge on third downs? can we finally leave guys like cornelius and armbrister behind? do we see anyone like terry or blue make a move?

i would really prefer to not see armbrister on the field ever again.

personally i think we'll go EJ/Gaines/DP to start the season, with Kirby eventually working his way into the starting lineup come conference play.

That was Armbrister's first year playing LB. The same people never thought DJ, Ben Jones, Jeremy Lewis would ever play meaningful snaps here. Never thought McGee would be a really good CB his Sr year.

Love a starting LB corp of EJ/Kirby/DP. That a scary unit IMO. I think 6, Gaines, and maybe Terry/Armbrister/Blue make up the rest of the 2 deep

Perryman, Johnson, Gaines, Kirby, Armbristor/Cornelius/Thomas (two of the three)

Terry and Bond crushing QBs off the edge.

As we get depth back, expect that kids like Thomas will play STs and provide depth should someone get hurt. If nothing changes, EJ and DP are givens on the outside and Gaines and Kirby will split time in the middle. I doubt Blue sees the field much.

BTW

Ambrister had some sort of surgery done on his left shoulder. i'm not sure if it has already been reported.

probably out for the spring.

I hope the rotation becomes less of a rotation! Too many changes constantly to develope any type of rhythm or continuity! Put your best on the field and have them develope..

Barrow, Armstead and Smith, Vilma and DJ Williams, were always on the field. I understand Perryman, EJ and ... arent them, but they can become that good

Perryman and EJ as a tandem can be just as good as Vilma/DJ.

Even without Gionni Paul there is some good depth with Gaines, Kirby, Armbrister, Cornelius, Terry, Blue, Figueroa.

We really need Thomas and/or Grace in this class.

Good points on Terry and Bond, 305 and country. They'll definitely see the field. I think Grace and Figs redshirt if they don't play STs.

DAMNGIF! We got LBs back.
