I say 2 years from now Miami will have a championship level team...if u look at the team all of our play makers are freshman and sophmores....then we have a pretty good recruiting class coming in.

You mean we don't have enough talent to win now? It's not the scheme or the coaching or the playcalling?

Blasphemy.

duhhhh

who ever thought it would be an instant change over the roster is retarded. Most of the D is not AG's and there playing better, imagine when we get this class and next class with most of AG's guys in there 3rd and 4th year. I give the first class a break because dude had two weeks left to recruit and Im pretty sure it would look totally different if he was here a full year.

Two years is a fair call. There are still plenty of talent holes in depth, and even among starters, that need to be filled. Golden only has two classes under his belt so far (only a fool would count the mess he tried to salvage in three months his first class) and needs a bit more time. Some folks were just super homeriesh and unrealistic in their expectations for this year, which, btw, still has the chance to end up as an outstanding season.

If we find the right QB I would say next year we can compete for a national title. If most of our starting juniors stay we will be scary with this recruiting class coming in and another year with this staff.

So, OP, you're suggesting that Coach D will get a head coaching job elsewhere within the next two years?

I just think that our defense is 2 years from being right....and we all know u cant go anywhere without defense....but I have the feeling al golden is building a monster.

Given the vast improvement from last year to this, I expect next year's to be much more on a level with FSU--not even but close. Two more years would mean 2014 class beasts would have a year of U Tough with EE's having two full years. Then you add another full year Golden class without ncaa drag and Olsen as redshirt soph and Kaaya redshirt freshman and yeah, two years we will be rock-n-rolling. But I expect to challenge next year too. Heck, when you think about it, we challenged this year.

These are why our expectations are always out of whack. Even if we find an elite QB next year our defense is still going go struggle. Have you seen our defensive line for next year? Quan and Ty can make strides but only so much. How about safety? Do we even have a two deep? Offensively we lose our top WR and who knows how Duke comes back.

Taper the expectations. Two years, my friend.

We are missing in the execution department. It doesn't take 2 years to solve that issue. Both QB that seem to be front runners for the spot will have a year under Coley. To help improve this position by a huge amount. Yearby will be here to help electrify the RB spot. WR position will be deeper, and with more big play guys. Also the guys that are being groomed on defense. Waiting behind the Greens, Gaines, and Highsmiths. Will be vast improvement over the current unit.

We will be a top ten, maybe top 5 team in 2014, but I believe 2015 will be our year.

It could be Olsen or Kaaya's 1st year starting, but as we can see with Jameis, Manziel, Mariotta, etc. Freshmen QBs can excel with the right amount of talent around them.

Roster configuration:

2012 SRs - class rank: 10th - Duke, Tracy, Herb, Malcolm, Dallas, Tyriq, Rayshawn, A.Crawford, Deon, Kirby, Jelani, Flowers etc, they all come back, assuming we dont win the ship in 2014.

2013 JRs - class rank: 14th - Stacy, Corn, AQM, Burns, Carter, Standish, Grace, Gus Bus, Figs, Tucker, etc

2014 SO - class rank: currently 6th K Olsen, C Thomas, Valentine, Yearby, Powell, McDermott, D. Griffin., Owens, Young, Langham, Berrios, etc

2015 FR - class rank: ???? (hopefully in the top 5-10 range) - Kaaya (redshirt)

4 straight top 15 classes.... including 3/4 in the top 10. Thats the talent and depth we need.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

2011 recruiting class absolutely killed us. The year Randy left the cupboard bare and Golden had to scramble to throw something together. That class was ranked 33rd
------of the 20 commits in 2011 only 10 still remain on the team today....
Dorsett
D.Crawford
Scott
Pierre
Perryman
Chickillo
Armbrister
Wells
King
Goudis

I said this was a five year rebuild and was laughed at. **** u clowns.

In 2011 Golden had to throw **** at the fan just to get qualified bodies on the team in short order.....didnt pan out character wise.

@jmb: I'd love for all those 2012 guys to come back, but there's no guarantee they all do.

I think if Duke has a healthy season next year, he bolts. And I wouldn't blame him.

Flowers is also an early entry candidadte. As well as Deon and Tracy depending on their seasons next year.

What we really need this cycle to put us over the edge for 2014 is quality JuCo DL to come in and help out. Wyche is a good start, and Stuckey needs to get his **** together. Adding one more would really be good for our DL depth and talent.
