Brandon really turned the corner his last year here. He was one of those guys the fans had given up on because it didn't click for him right away.

Besides the fact that too many fans are idiots. Harris was unfairly judged based on that other corner that got away($$$$). Expectations for him were waaaaayyyy too high, he was never going to be the physical freak like that other guy. It's a lot easier to make an immediate impact when you have the physical tools that can compensate for poor technique. Guys like Harris and T Howard don't have the ridiculous combo of speed, size and strength to cover up their mistakes.

He was talking about Brandon McGee.

Why couldn't we ever get Ray Ray to pan out here? He had all the tools, so talented and ....

Played out of position. Should have been an OLB.

Played out of position. Took the funkiest angles on plays, and usually payed for it.

In dog house often.

Yup. There's been a few guys like McGee that have finished here on a high note after mostly disappointing. McGee though really stepped up and had a fantastic year as a senior.

a lot of suspensions and being in the doghouse. was kicked off the team for his senior season.

He was NCAA ineligible his senior season. He went to some NAIA school, but couldn't play there because they won't play NCAA ineligible players. He was his worst enemy, by far.

shannon wouldnt let him see the field. Paul Williams developed him.
That might be part of it but the way I remember his senior year is Golden constantly, seemingly a daily basis, challenging McGee in practice, to the media, everything. It seemed McGee really needed that push and Golden was able to finally get that fire going in him. Maybe Williams has a lot to do with it but IMO Golden really pushed him mentally.

Potato

Radio offered the wrong father the in-house job; Johnson's pop should have gotten gig, lol. Not sure what duties the Harris patriarch did here or for the players other than "keeping us loose" that Iman once raved about. Patriarch could have been assistant to the assistant of players relations, etc. and boy our fortunes would have changed...
